The Pacific Digital offers an internal EIDE 32x12x48 CD-ReWritable drive. The drive writes CD-R (Recordable) and CD-RW (Re-Writable) media at 32x speeds and reads CD-ROMs at 48x speeds.To improve reliability and performance, optimum write speed control automatically selects the best recording speed given a disk's capability and recording conditions. This exclusive write strategy maximizes stability of the recording environment by combining a large buffer memory, CAV writing support for on-the-fly data backup, and specific fine-tunings to the recording software, resulting in elimination of buffer underruns and waste of media.

I bought this burner expecting a cheap burner that would do the job, but not very well. However, for ($$), this burner does the job phenomenally. The copy of Nero that also comes with it, works well. All in all, this is a (darn) good burner

A Drive that actually performs at the speeds it says, for reads and writes.. hard to believe i know.. and it burns pretty much any kind of cd you'd want it too.. i can't recommend it high enough(espcially for the price)...

I purschased this Phillips cdrw about 2 months ago. It was very easy to install. I have used it almost daily to burn music off the web.
It is very easy to use the download time is quick (I have Cable),and this cdrw can handle it.
I had bought a diffrent brand about 8 months ago was not even able to install it .I threw 80 bucks down the drain. You have to read the install instructions before you buy them,or you will be lost.
Phillips makes it easy.
This is a good and reliable Product.
