A Great Value.......2003-05-17

This monitor was my first excursion into the LCD market, and I am not disappointed. The image quality, sharpness, and brightness rival any CRT and the contrast is decent. Compared with the laptop monitors I've used, this Samsung is somewhat harsher on the eyes as it is more crisp. Of course, if you're using Windows XP, you'll want to use its ClearType font smoothing. In terms of latency, I can see no difference between this screen and a CRT. The Auto Adjust button is great for quickly setting up the screen's geometry. While the footpring is small, the base is slightlly unstable. Also, my monitor has a dead pixel in the middle. However, what matters most is image quality, and you will be exceedingly pleased with this LCD.

Among the better LCD monitors.......2003-04-21

We took 10 of the 151s for our Internet Café.
For 2 reasons we have chosen LCD screens over CRT monitors:
Having a monitor running 10 hours a day adds up to the energy bill, and LCD monitors consume essentially less power than CRT monitors.
Second, the space it takes on the desk is much less than what a CRT demands.

Samsung has a good reputation for LCD monitors (somewhat less for CRT screens). The dead pixel rate is really low, and the color rendition and image definition is in the better range of the LCD marketplace. Overall, this monitor is an excellent deal when looking at the price-performance ratio.

Lots of flaws.......2003-04-15

This is not only the ugliest-looking LCD monitor you'll find on the market today, but has one of the worst image quality measures. The pictures have shallow contrast, are not bright enough, and sport washed-out features. The viewer angle is absolutely terrible -- you can't see anything if you deviate more than 20 degrees from the center of the screen, in any of the directions! The controls don't make any sense, and the manual is not written in English. To add insult to insury, there's no customer support -- good luck if something goes wrong!

Why anyone would buy something so bad like this is beyond my comprehension. To that fellow in Taiwan: you guys make tons of great LCD monitors, and you rated this five stars? You must be working for Smsung.

Good for the price.......2003-02-24

Purchased this monitor last year. Noticed that it is not as crystal clear as a CRT, but this is true of all LCD screens. For the price, this model kicks. Check out reviews on computer sites also.

I am very happy with this moniter. I will never again buy another big bulky type moniter again. It has a very sharp picture. I experinced no shadowing of any kind gaming. Seeing this why would anyone buy a big bulky noniter this is great.
