The 15" SDM-N50R LCD is anthracite gray on the outside, but its extra luminous panel stands out from the crowd once the monitor is switched on. The stylish 0.7 MegaPixels screen provides excellent picture quality, with a higher luminance of 250 cd/m2. The designer good looks are matched by the technical wizardry of the N50. Innovative sensors ensure a maximum of energy saving and automatic brightness adjustment to ambient light condition changes.The Ambient Light Sensor ensures that when operating in bright conditions, the monitor's back-light brightens and when the surrounding light lessens, the display dims accordingly. The N50R also features a User Sensor, an energy-saving infrared device that automatically switches the monitor to stand-by mode as soon as the user steps away. The display is attached to a domed base unit via a supporting arm that can be moved through all ergonomic angles. This means that individual users can easily adjust the position of the monitor to their own ideal viewing position. The incredible slimness and light weight of the screen unit are made possible by the innovative idea of separating the LCD panel from the LCD mains circuit and power supply. The foot-stand of the Sony N50R is a circular dome that houses two stereo speakers, two bass reflex ducts and a Bass Boost function. Even though the speakers are less than 5 cm apart, the unit delivers incredible stereo sound thanks to a special "Wide Stereo Mode" circuit. The N50R also has a stereo headphone mini-jack at the junction of the domed base and the panel's supporting arm.

This monitor had the most detailed picture and IS worth the cash. If you purchase this, you will not regret it. Along with a decent Sony computer it wonders everyone with both its looks and performance. I really like the input setup for two different computers so you can save some money and have one monitor for two systems if your occupation needs that sort of power. I highly recommend this Sony monitor.
