Amazon.com Product Description

A 15-inch flat panel monitor from Hewlett Packard, the F50 is a high-quality TFT LCD monitor with plenty of features and a reasonable price tag. A maximum non-interlaced resolution of 1024 x 768 combines with a 0.297 mm dot pitch to provide clear, detailed pictures and crisp, sharp text. A 24-bit driver depth produces over 16 million colors, resulting in bright, true-to-life images suitable for a wide variety of home and home office needs.

The anti-glare screen treatment helps cut back on harmful reflections and the resulting eye-strain, while a 300:1 contrast ratio and 200 nits of brightness make the screen easy to see even in well lit environments. A 120-degree horizontal and 90-degree vertical viewing angle ensures that several people can view the screen at once, while a 5-degree down and 25-degree up tilt lets you ideally position the monitor to suit your needs.

The F50 connects to your computer via either a VGA analog or DVI digital connector, and is a "plug and play" monitor, ready to use right out of the box. With the onscreen controls, you can adjust a wide variety of monitor settings including brightness, contrast, H/V position, H/V size, color temperature, sharpness, and much more.

The F50 has a small 14.4-by-8.5-inch footprint and weighs just 10.6 pounds. TCO 99 and Energy Star compliant, the F50 is PC compatible only and comes backed with a one year limited warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Great Monitor-Bought X-Mas 2004-No problems.......2005-12-21

The monitor has performed perfectly. No problems in one year's time. Would recommend to others.

5 out of 5 stars I LOVE this monitor........2004-07-09

Hoo boy, where to start. This monitor, while a bit pricey at first was a great buy. It is very bright at the highest contrast and has a nice auto adjust function. When first setting it up, it was very off balance at different resolutions, so I pressed the auto adjust key. It works wonders. I like the included functions and would buy it a gain if given the chance. Th real letdown was the max resolution of 1024x768. I can look past that knowing I will never se anything higher than that. Very worth it.

2 out of 5 stars Problems After Warranty of 1 year.......2004-06-23

I purchased this monitor at Micro Computer, Santa Clara California in October 2002 along with a Hewlett Packard computer. I did not purchase any additional warranty as the monitor came with a 1 year guarantee. At the time this monitor was priced at $649. In June of 2004 the monitor screen intermittently went blank for periods of 1 second to more then 1 hour. I tested the monitor on another computer and it exhibited the same problem. HP customer service had me bring it to a Radio Shack store that received moved it to the HP repair center. The monitor was returned 2 weeks later without repair. I was told by HP that flat screen LCD monitors are never repaired. So the net result is that the monitor lasted only 1-1/2 years. I complained to HP and they have offered me a $175 dollar credit towards a new monitor which will cost $379. My complaint is that the guarantee is much too short at 1 year on an expensive part that cannot be repaired. They need to offer a reasonable minimum life of 3 to 5 years.

5 out of 5 stars HP f50 monitor.......2004-02-29

Purchased this monitor to use with a W98 'old' customized computer and it works great! Was a bit blurry at first, but ran the f50.exe adjustment program, then hit the 'auto'adjustment button on the monitor and now its perfect! I would purchase another!

2 out of 5 stars HP F50 Review.......2003-12-16

DON'T but it! I bought an HP home PC almost two years ago, which included an F50 monitor. The monitor itself has great clarity and color and a nice aesthetic quality as well. The problem is a horizontal line of pixels burnt out about 1 1/2 years after I bought it. So basically I have a horizontal black line running dead center throught my monitor. When I called HP Support they told me my monitor needed to be replaced. I find this unacceptable after only a year and a half of use.
