Amazon.com Product Description
The Seiko WP5402R electronic dictionary offers a compact and convenient way to access more than 130,000 definitions culled from the American Heritage Dictionary. It's ideal for traveling writers and other on-the-go wordsmiths who don't want to haul along a book but still need a good lightweight dictionary for their travels. Users have a couple of choices when inputting information: they can type in the word and receive a definition, or they can type in the definition and search for the word--a must when a specific expression is on the tip of one's tongue. The device can also correct phonetic spelling errors, i.e., words that sound like they should be spelled one way but are actually spelled quite differently. Just enter a word "as it sounds" and the spell checker will suggest real words based on phonetic equivalents. With more than 70,000 phonetic choices, the WP5402R comes up with the correct spelling time and again.Although the WP5402R is primarily a dictionary, it also includes a built-in calculator that adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides numbers as large as 12 digits long. And language specialists will dig the inflection checker, which finds inflected nouns, adjectives, and verbs to correct conjugation and inflection errors. Other features include a Crossword Solver function that lets you substitute question marks for missing letters and then suggests completed words; 28 menu-driven converters, including currency and metric options; a raised rubber QWERTY keyboard; and a bright, two-line scrolling display.
The WP5402R, which also includes a protective folding lid with quick reference instructions on the inside, measures 4.5 by 2.88 by 0.62 inches (W x H x D) when closed and is backed by a one-year warranty on parts and labor.
