This cell phone service plan lets you call throughout TracFone's nationwide network, with no additional fees for long distance service.

Included Minutes: Units good for 10 local or 5 roaming

This plan includes 10 airtime units; good for 10 minutes worth of local calling (billed at one unit per minute) or 5 minutes of roaming (billed at two units per minute), or any combination of local and roaming totaling 10 airtime units.

Mobile-to-Mobile minutes: no

This plan offers no reduced fee for calls made between two TracFone cell phone plan subscribers.

Services and products included at no additional fee

A Nokia 5165 cell phone and access to the TracFone nationwide long distance network is available at no additional cost to the by-minute rate (see Services Available, below) when you purchase individual phone cards. You'll also get voice mail, caller ID, call waiting, and text messaging. There is no monthly fee, deposit, or credit check with this program. Nightmare.......2002-06-18

Always read the fine print. I'm banging my head on the wall here, and on the desk, and on the floor. My phone was lost shortly after it was activated. Tracfone wouldn't offer any refund on the minutes that I had bought (well over $100 worth) and they refused to switch them over to another phone. Their excuse was "We have no way of knowing how many minutes were left on the original phone, unless you turn on the original phone." Uh right, if I had the old phone here and in working order I wouldn't need to switch my minutes to a new one. Apparently they keep no records of how much airtime you've spent, even though you have go online to activate each card--you'd think they'd have some sort of record of THAT at least. So now I am out both the cost of a phone and the cost of the airtime that I'd payed for but never used. Don't get this plan unless you are planning on leaving your phone in a safe place -like at home, which sort of defeats the purpose of a mobile- or only buying the minutes 10 at a time, so that if your phone is ever lost or stolen you don't lose as much. I'm extremely dissapointed with the number of options I've been offered (none) and am now off to call the better business bureau. Bleah.
