The PCV-RX640 offers a 60 GB hard drive, 1.3 HGz Intel Celeron processor, and 256 MB of installed RAM.

The Basics

Hard Drive: The 60 GB hard drive (DMA/ATA-100 Ultra) is decently sized, but it is not large enough to satisfy the true potential of this multimedia machine.

Processor: The 1.3 GHz Intel Celeron processor is outdated and nowhere near the capabilities necessary for today's processor-intensive multimedia playback and editing software applications.

Memory: The installed 256 MB of SDRAM will not take you to the promised land, and the PCV-RX640 can only be expanded to 512 MB.

CD/DVD Drive: It comes equipped with two drives: a DVD-ROM (8x speed) and a CD-RW for saving data to disc and burning your favorite playlists to CD. The CD-RW drive has 16x write, 10x rewrite, and 40x read speeds.

The integrated Intel 815E graphics/video card offers acceptable 3D and video rendering, but it is not a powerhouse (especially compared to contemporary Digital Studio PCs).
