The Sure Shot 105u series shares the same new design as the Sure Shot 115u, but with a distinction in the color band on the camera's exterior. It is replacing the successful 85 Zoom and features a fitted 2.7x zoom lens with a focal range of 38-105mm f/4.6-11.9, the flash unit having a guide number of 14.4m. Sharing a common feature-set, these models use Canon's superb passive three-point dual AiAF intelligent focusing system linked to the zoom. This system places three focusing sensors across the viewfinder to ensure that subjects are easily kept in focus wherever they are in the frame. Users have a choice of six shooting modes for maximum flexibility that include special settings for portraits, action (with Servo AF mode), night portraits, close-ups (up to 45cm) and a Real-Time (RT) shutter release mode. When the RT mode is switched on the camera takes pictures just 0.03 seconds (approx.) after the shutter button is pressed, ensuring no delay and no missed photo opportunities.For dealing with tricky lighting situations, such as snow scenes, beach pictures or back lit subjects, an exposure compensation facility is available with �1.5EV options. The cameras have five custom functions so that users can tailor features to suit their individual requirements. These include a mode that remembers preferred shooting and flash settings when the camera is switched on, a center-only AF point feature and a sequence shooting feature with a maximum capture rate of about one frame per second.Each of the new Sure Shot cameras also has six flash modes, including auto and manual on and off, as well as a red eye reduction lamp. These highly efficient flash units are capable of recharging in just six seconds so users can take pictures any time of the day or night, even in low light conditions.
