The DVR-105 writes and reads DVD-R/RW, write once and re-recordable formats that can be played on most DVD Video players and DVD-ROM drives. The drive also supports reading and writing of CD-R and CD-RW media and can be used as a DVD-ROM and CD-ROM drive as well. Pioneer advanced laser driver uses a pickup that incorporates a write strategy control circuit, ensuring stable writing performance at high speeds. Previous models used a mechanical tilt mechanism. The DVR-105 features a Liquid Crystal tilt mechanism that provides more accurate, reliable operation with discs having uneven curvature or thickness. This superior mechanism is used for both playback and recording. The DVR-105 prevents buffer underruns for both DVD and CD media through the use of a unique Loss-less Linking scheme. This saves both time and money by eliminating the most likely cause of a disc write failure and hence wasted discs.
