Amazon.com Product Description
Whether you're traveling cross-country or want to show your DVDs at a friend's house across town, the Mintek MDP-1810KIT portable DVD player is an all-in-one, easy-to-carry entertainment package: the player and its stereo headphones slide into a supplied carry case. The unit plays DVD-Video (both NTSC and PAL-formatted discs), CDs (including recordable and rewriteable CDs), MP3-filled music discs, and Kodak Picture CDs for custom slide shows of your digital photos. A bright, 8-inch TFT(active-matrix) color LCD makes any program look great, and it's configured in a 16:9 widescreen dimension that matches the shape of most DVD movies.
At home, you can connect the player to a television (either composite- or S-video), and--when it's hooked up to a compatible audio/video receiver and multichannel speaker system--the tiny player can bring soundtracks to life with Dolby Digital 5.1-channel sound.
Designed for easy use on the road, the MDP-1810KIT includes a high-capacity rechargeable lithium battery pack, a car power adapter, and an AC power adapter. Its built-in anti-shock system helps prevent annoying interruptions. Listen through headphones or use the built-in stereo speakers. A wireless remote control will come in handy when you're sitting across the room from the player, as when you have it connected to a TV.
It supports multiple audio language tracks and multilingual subtitles, and you can select from multiple camera angles on DVDs providing that option. Among other key features are 6-mode picture zoom, 4-speed slow motion, fast forward and reverse search, chapter preview ("digest") mode, random play, and repeat play--a feature that's especially useful for trade shows or demonstrations.
What's in the Box
CD player, a high-capacity rechargeable lithium-ion battery pack (external), a remote control, remote battery, stereo headphones, a carrying case, an AC/DC power adapter, a vehicle DC power adapter, audio/video hookup cables, and a user's manual.

ViewSonic PS790 19" CRT Monitor
Manufacturer: ViewSonic Product Group: CE Binding: Electronics ASIN: B00001R3XS |
Product Description
The revolutionary ViewSonic PS790 Short Depth monitor is the first of its kind. In addition to high resolution and refresh rates, this 19" (18.0" viewable) monitor fits in the space of a conventional 15" (various viewable) monitor. Fully loaded with features, such as an ultra fine 0.25mm dot pitch and SuperClear screen technology with advanced Invar shadow mask for enhanced colors and image sharpness, this is the perfect choice for professional users requiring space efficiency and high performance. Don't settle for ordinary when you can have the extraordinary-the PS790.Amazon.com Review
Proof that big things sometimes come in small packages, ViewSonic's PS790 19-inch monitor occupies less space than a typical 17-inch model. This alone would make it an attractive choice for those who require a large screen but don't have space to spare. However, the PS790 happens to be an excellent monitor to boot. The PS790's 0.25-millimeter dot pitch provides a sharper picture than usual for a 19-inch monitor, especially when it comes to text quality. Onscreen controls, which you access through a set of front-panel buttons, provide access to the usual functions--color controls, video level, screen size, and position. You can also access brightness/contrast controls from the front panel.
Windows 98 automatically installs the PS790's software drivers. ViewSonic provides a CD-ROM with the required software if you are running Windows 95. (The CD-ROM also includes a collection of screen savers.) If you are a Mac user, you can enjoy the benefits of this monitor, but you'll need to purchase a separate Macintosh adapter to enable compatibility.
ViewSonic's PS790 is an ideal choice for graphics professionals, Web publishers, and game enthusiasts. And if you're upgrading from a 17-inch monitor, it will get the job done in the same amount of space, or less. --John Frederick Moore

Worst monitor I have ever had !.......2004-08-12
A great monitor -- and now a great deal, too........2003-10-08
This is a great monitor if you want a screen larger than 17" and you are both a) short on desk space, and b) don't want to (or can't) shell out the cash for an LCD display. Although it lacks the perfectly flat screens of newer CRTs, the picture quality on the PS790 is still very good, and of course the significant size savings helps in a cramped environment (like a college dorm room, where I used mine for four years). Despite being 19" from corner to corner, this thing is about the same depth as a 17" monitor, or a cheap 15" model. It supports fairly high resolutions and refresh rates -- again, this is not a professional graphics monitor, but it's more than suitable for any home user.
I'm finally looking to replace my aging monitor (the brightness and contrast are both slowly fading after about 4-5 years of heavy use) -- and I seriously may replace it with another one of these. Or two, considering the price. One good 17" LCD (the same screen size) is about $500.
See it to believe it!!.......2003-05-23
