Upgrade your home movie watching with the Samsung DVD-HD755 single-disc DVD player, which up-converts standard DVD movie discs to high-definition video formats, perfect for your HD-capable LCD or Plasma television. Typical progressive scan DVD players will be able to handle the 480p (progressive) video display format, but the DVD-HD755 also supports 720p and 1080i display resolutions. In addition to DVD movie and CD audio discs, this player is compatible with DVD-R/RW, DVD+R/RW, CD-R/RW, and SVCD disc formats as well as JPEG photo and MP3/WMA audio files burned to disc. Save your money.......2007-04-15

It arrived when expected. It's a nice size and light weight. That's where "nice" ends. I'm taking a trip to Russia in a few weeks and thought this would really be of help. Well, it isn't. Yes, it does translate from English to Russian but NOT into phonetically spelled words. It translates into Russian using the Russian alphabet. If I could read the alphabet, I wouldn't need the translator. Next, the screen is very difficult to read under any lighting conditions. So, what I have is an expensive currency converter with a bad screen. A $5 calculator would serve a better purpose. When I complained to the company, their response was for me to buy a translator from them priced over $400. Somehow, I don't think so.

This unit may have good information in it, but is built VERY poorly. Died in less than a year!!! Company says too bad. NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!!! Find another translator company.

Well, I must say that this little thing is amazing. I just came back from doing the Grand Tour (England, France, Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, France again, and Belgium) and found that with this in my pocket I was able to really communicate. What I think is probably the most useful function of this small device is the instant phrase translation to and from any of 10 included languages. I only know a bit of Spanish so I can't say how accurate the other translations are but the English-Spanish travel part was great. I was really glad to have it with me because although my Rough Guide had a small phrasebook in it, it wasn't something I could depend on.

Craptastic!
The first one I received was DOA.
The second one died after using it for only a few hours. I tried the reset feature repeatedly - no luck. Replaced the batteries - no good.
The software isn't too bad. It's 4 million word vocabulary doesn't seem to include conjugated verbs.

What 5 other languages does it translate????.......2002-03-21

How can I buy a translator if I do not know all of the languages they do. If I want more than what is advertised how can I tell this product is what I want without knowing all languages????
