The recorder's built-in NTSC TV tuner and onscreen user interface permits up to 8 timer recordings over a 1-year period, with its 6 DVD recording speeds providing between 1 hour and an amazing 10 hours of content on each single-sided 4.7 GB recordable DVD. You can even select and compile the best footage to commit to disc: the recorder's handy editing features include auto playlist creation, project titling, title deletion and editing, and scene deletion.

The FDR90E's versatile playback features include progressive-scan video outputs and support of MP3 CDs so you can easily shift your digital music enjoyment from the den to the living room. 3 out of 5 stars Not bad... but sure could be better........2001-12-16

First of all, I was quite disappointed when this monitor arrived and I found it was not really a "flat monitor". It's screen is as bulbous and curved as any regular monitor I've seen anywhere. I decided to try it. The picture quality was decent once I got it all adjusted - and if you're a gamer you'll do this for every game, too. Whenever my resolution changed, I spent 10-15 minutes trying to "dial-in" a good (just comfortable) view. Once done... well, it's a 19 inch monitor. Not a FLAT 19", but a 19" none-the-less. Also, the case was bigger than my wife's NEC 19". I don't know why, but it's huge. I've returned it for an NEC FE950+BLK.

5 out of 5 stars Solid Choice.......2001-08-29

I recently received this monitor - it is very crisp, very clean looking, the images are top notch, the screen has a bit of a curve in it, more than I would have guessed from a product with the word "flat" in the title, but generally acceptable. The on-screen controls are not labeled, but easy enough to figure out once you play with them to see the effect on the display when you change them.
The Samsung 955DF would have been my 1st choice, but was perenially out of stock - I looked at this one in a store, and is comparable in image quality - albeit about $60 cheaper. This monitor is solid in my book, and looks fantastic against a black hutch, much better than a beige monitor.

4 out of 5 stars Solid Choice.......2001-08-28

Although having only used the monitor for all of 1 day, my initial reaction is nothing but positive. The image quality is really good, especially at 1024x768 - colors were sharp, games looked fantastic. The only minor flaw is the on-screen control panel - less than intuitive - although you can dial the monitor in how you want it, it takes some doing, as the monitor is black, so you cannot see the labels on the buttons - once you dial it in, this becomes less of a problem. After reading the first review, I was a bit skeptical of this monitor, but gave it a try - had the Samsung 955DF been in stock, that would have been my 1st choice... But, if you want a black monitor to go with your surroundings, this is as good as I've seen - #1 Samsung 955DF..., #2 Sceptre P98VB - you can't go wrong with either.

2 out of 5 stars not a great monitor.......2001-05-10

It's not the worst monitor I've seen, but it's definitely worse than most I'd say. The image quality is noticeably worse than my previous monitor, which was also a 19" monitor. I purchased this monitor because my old one went kaput, and I liked the fact that it was cheap and came in black. I'd buy something else if I could do it all over again.

The product claims to be "plug-and-play." I really see no need for a monitor to have plug-and-play capability. All that it managed to do was screw up my Control Panel so that I couldn't load Display properties (until I reinstalled my graphics card drivers).

However, it is an acceptable monitor for my purposes. You do get what you pay for, so if quality is extremely important to you I would avoid this monitor, and probably this brand of monitor.

The good parts (and why it didn't get a worse rating) are that it is quite good looking, and the price is very reasonable.
