The progressive-scan feature guarantees the sharpest picture quality possible for DVD-Video, with a signal that offers double the scan lines of conventional DVD images when played on high-definition or HD-ready TVs. The system also offers DVD-Audio compatibility, letting it reproduce the wide frequency range and impressive signal-to-noise ratio of the enhanced audio format. DVD movies sound terrific due to the built-in Dolby Digital, DTS, and Dolby Pro Logic II decoders, which deliver a remarkably natural sense of ambiance and realism.
The SC-HT1000 runs at 430 watts of total power: 35 watts for the two front "tallboy" speakers and two surround speakers, 140 watts for the center channel, and 150 watts for the subwoofer. The tallboy speakers come with detachable stands that adjust to the height of your TV screen, putting them in the proper position for optimum theater sound. In addition, each of the speakers is magnetically shielded to protect the picture from distortion.
