It's also compatible with content burned to CD-R/RW and (S)VCD discs, as well as MP3-formatted CD-R/RWs. It offers internal Dolby Digital and DTS decoding and a digital coaxial audio output, enabling you to connect to your home theater system to produce chilling, immersive 5.1-channel surround sound. It also provides 3D virtual surround sound for playback through two stereo channels.
The DVG5000N provides a component video output for optimal progressive scan viewing on your high-definition television, as well as composite A/V and S-Video connections. Playback features include multi-angle viewing, 2/4/8/15/30x forward/reverse, 4x picture zoom, digital video markers for bookmarking favorite scenes, and adjustable aspect ratio. Other features include parental controls, multi-language onscreen display (English, French, Spanish), and NTSC/PAL compatibility.
Tech Talk
Component video (also called Y/Pb/Pr) features a three-jack video input, which provides separate connections for luminance (Y), blue color difference (PB) and red color difference (PR). This results in increased bandwidth for color information, resulting in a more accurate picture with clearer color reproduction and less bleeding than you would get with S-Video or composite (RCA yellow video plug) connections. You will need a separate RCA left/right audio cable for sound.
