    Product Description

Based on industry-standard Microsoft Windows CE, the Capio 600 Series offers fast, easy, and affordable thin client appliances that let you run Windows applications from a server - plus much more - for much less than PCs or other thin client appliances. Naturally, it's from Neoware - the industry leader that's won virtually every award in appliance computing. Pure simplicity means the Capio 600 Series is easy to install, easy to use, easy to manage, and easy to upgrade. Plug Capio in. Turn Capio on. Get to work as easy as that. With the Capio 600 Series there is no special configuration needed on your server. Set up your first Capio the way you want it, including security settings, and you can duplicate those settings to thousands of others. You cannot find a thin client that is easier to install or use. Like all members of Neoware's product families, the Capio 600 Series works seamlessly with Neoware's ezRemote Manager software. This powerful suite of tools gives you complete control of your desktops, dramatically reducing your support costs. ezRemote Manager lets you discover, manage, configure, and upgrade Capio appliances across your network without leaving your desk. Try that with a PC. Neoware's philosophy is that computing doesn't have to be complicated. Unlike PCs, Neoware's Capio thin client appliances are designed from the ground up to do a handful of tasks - and do them extremely well. You run your applications on servers - not the desktop - resulting in faster application delivery, quicker response times, and more productive people.

1 out of 5 stars Drive went bad one month after waranty expired, seldom used........2002-06-28

Bought this product. Had problems with compatible media. At first, HP support said I had to buy HP media (how convenient, and expensive). I finally found a media that worked (Dysan, if you have ever heard of them). The drive just went out on me. I have the original 50cd spindle of media here. I have burned less than 50 cd's in the drive. I wasted 4 hours trying to figure it out. It spins fine, it opens/closes fine, but windows just says 'insert disk'. I contacted HP support, after wasting my time with newbie tasks, they had me unplug the ide cable...

    1. Turn off the computer.
    2. Open the case and disconnect the data cable from the back of the
    HP CD-Writer Plus drive.
    3. Power on the computer.
    4. Insert one of the discs that you have been unable to read.
    * If the media indicator light flashes and then is on solid,
there appears to be an issue with the data cable, IDE
    Controller, drivers, or Windows configuration.
    * If the media indicator light flashes and then goes out, please
get back to me with the results.

The light stayed off... so the drive is bad. Too bad for me, out of waranty. I am suspicious, I but it is 'timed' to go bad. This will be my last HP product, since I am also having HP scanner problems, not having Windows XP support. OH, and you cannot get Win 2000 server drivers for this burner either. I am going to buy the Sony 48/12/40. Hey Compaq, ENJOY!

    3 out of 5 stars Ehh.......2001-08-04

For some reason this burner takes about seven minutes when writing off the hard drive, and 20 minutes when copying from the CDROM drive. I have new Pentium 4 with a 50X cdrom drive, so I can't figure out why it is so slow. Tried 4 different software programs (the bundled burning software from HP is terrible by the way), different IDE chain combinations, and even different OSs to try to speed it up, but with no luck. Hmm. On the plus side though, its had a lot of use (about three hundred discs) with no problems or coaster-producing tendencies.

4 out of 5 stars Very Adequate burner but bundled software sucks.......2001-02-06

After many hours of help from the HP support people, I finally was able to get the burner up and running. The HP people were very helpful and they couldn't say their burning software was bad, but if you read between the lines, they as much as said to dump the "Veritas My CD" software that comes with it. I agree. I got buffer underruns whenever I tried to burn an audio or data cd. I bought Click 'n burn pro and have been burning without a problem ever since. Instead of cutting corners, HP should bundle software worthy of their fine products. Other than that, it is a great burner.

    5 out of 5 stars the best.......2001-01-07

This product is the Best. I burned about a hundred cds with this product. It is easy to load, and very fast.
