Part of the Value Series of monitors, the Futura LD7 offers quality and performance at a good price. This 17-inch CRT (16.1-inch viewable) with an Invar shadow mask provides bright, clear images with a 0.27-millimeter dot pitch and nonglare screen. The LD7 performs on a professional level with flicker-free images thanks to reasonably fast refresh rates at lower resolutions, making it ideal for word processing, spreadsheets, graphics, and just surfing the Web.

The LD7 has a maximum resolution of 1,280 x 1,024 at 60 Hz, with a horizontal scanning frequency of 30 to 70 kHz and a vertical scanning frequency of 47 to 104 Hz. An onscreen display provides convenient setting of contrast, brightness, horizontal and vertical position and size, degaussing, and more. Its plug and play capabilities get you up and running as soon as you take it out of the box. The LD7 is EPA Energy Star compliant for reduced power consumption.

Great "Bang for the Buck".......2000-11-08

When building my computer I decided that I would want all high end components...and as my budget started to dwindle the last thing I though about was a monitor. With limited cash I went on a monitor search and found the Futura LD7. It certainly isn't the most expensive (One of the lowest priced 16+" viewable anywhere), nor does it support the greatest resolutions or refresh rates, I am extremely pleased. It has a great picture with no distortion and works great with my ATI Rage Fury Pro Video Card. It also has no problem when I play DVD's. The onscreen disply options are great, much more than most low priced monitors. You can adjust nearly every setting possible, although the manual is lacking in explaining what some of the options are. Another selling point for me is Futura's 48 Hour Replacement...yes that's right...your monitor breaks, you'll have a new one in 2 days or less...all that for a great price!. I didn't purchase mine through Amazon (wish I would have...would have saved a couple bucks), but I'm sure you'll be happy with this if you are looking for a cheap, but good 17" monitor.
