Product Description
The PV-L652 Palmcorder contains both standard camcorder as well as PhotoShot built-in digital still camera capabilities. MagicPix Images feature lets you record full color still images when you're in extremely low light situations. Dual Digital Electronic Image Stabilization (D-EIS) feature compensates for unintentional hand and camcorder movement when recording. You can also use it in playback mode to help reduce jitter in previously recorded video. SD memory cards are versatile, high-capacity memory cards that assure smooth networking with PCs, TVs, and PDAs that are equipped with an SD slot. To save battery power during recording and playback, this Palmcorder features a color viewfinder that can be used instead of the LCD. Digital effects can be added to your videos during playback, adding a new edge to home movies. It records video in the same 16: 9 aspect ratio as a movie screen, giving your videos a dramatic, cinematic effect during playback. Color Digital Filter gives you the same duo-tone effect of a color filter without having to attach one to the lens. It lets you add sepia, red, yellow, blue or green tone to the overall picture.
Amazon.com Product Description
Digital pictures aren't unique to digital camcorders anymore--the Panasonic PVL652 functions as both a VHS-C camcorder and a digital camera. It also features a large, 3-inch color LCD, 20x optical zoom, high performance two-hour battery, and special digital effects like strobe, wipe, and 16 x 9 widescreen. You can even digitally add color filters to your video without having to attach one to the lens.
Lens
The lens features an optical zoom magnification of 20x along with an 800x digital zoom, which works by electronically enhancing the optical image. The digital image stabilization system keeps the picture steady and solid throughout zooms and camera shakes.
Digital Stills
The PhotoShot mode allows the PVL652 to take digital stills, storing them on the included 8 MB Secure Digital card. SD memory cards are high-capacity memory cards that can be easily connected to PCs, TVs, and PDAs that are equipped with an SD slot. The MagicPix function produces full-color still images when you're in low-light situations.
Inputs and Outputs
The standard RCA input/output and cable are included, so you can hook the camcorder to a TV for convenient viewing or a VCR for dubbing to regular VHS.

what's all the fuss about?.......2003-01-19
Then again, I really don't understand how anybody could screw up installing and using this drive. Having read many of the comments on this page before buying it with some trepidation over a month ago, I went through the documentation on Iomega's site throughly. After a few hours of reading I realised that I should have just plugged in the drive, connected the USB, and turned on the computer and installed the sugessted software. It's that simple, despite what some would have you believe.
The drive has worked well for me so far, writing more than a dozen CDs in both audio and data format at the 4x max, and while this is rather slow, I'm using it primarilly for back-up and for the price (this drive is now available cheap as a refurbished product on Amazon) it was well worth it. Also, no coasters yet. Some have suggested using only quality media for burning, though I did try a no name disc and it burned without a problem. Mostly I've used HP media.
Some people have pointed out compatability problems with Toshiba notebooks, so if that's your system, beware, but for someone looking for a cheep external it's really rather hard to beat this product
