Product Description
Offering high quality 8.1 megapixel photos, the EX-Z850 includes a 3X optical zoom, and offers both manual aperture and shutter speed priority AE options for advanced users who prefer to create customized images. The impressive 2.5" Super Bright LCD generates approximately 1,200 cd/m2 of luminescent output, making the monitor even easier to view when outdoors. It includes the latest version of the EXILIM Engine, featuring the Anti Shake DSP, which considerably reduces the capture of blurred images due to shaky hands or moving subjects, so you only have to worry about which shots to take, not how they will come out. In response to user's high demand, the EX-Z850's Super Life Battery supports 440 shots per charge, providing convenient, long-lasting usability. The EX-Z850 also includes "Old Photo" Best Shot Mode, which refreshes faded colors of old photos by bringing them back to life in digital format. Additionally, when taking high quality long duration MPEG-4 movies, the EX-Z850 instantaneously reduces camera shake electronically. For movies taken in dimly lit environments, the "built-in" Illumination LED Light provides additional illumination of the subject. Once powered on, the camera is ready to take pictures in approximately 1.0 second Built-in multimode electronic-flash / White LED illumination light enables both still images and movies to be taken in low light conditions and acts as an AF assist light / Rapid Flash enables three consecutive, high speed flash photos in only one second / High Power Flash compensates for objects to be taken in poorly illuminated areas up to 12.1 meters away Unit Dimensions - 3.50 (W) x 2.30 (H) x. 93 (D) (excluding projections;. 78 at thinnest part) / Unit Weight - Approx. 4.59 oz (excluding battery and accessories)

Custom ringtones, as well as a picture ID system are also supported. Lastly, the device's Bluetooth (version 1.2) connectivity makes it easy to sync the unit with a wide range of handsfree, wireless headsets and car kits.

1 out of 5 stars Not a reliable device.......2007-06-07

After first couple of months of honeymoon, ipaq started to power off by itself for no apparent reason. Everytime I had to go thru remove the battery cover remove the battery replace battery replace battery cover and in few hours it shuts down., Cingular sent a replacement battery cover but it is of no use. I don't have any expectation from HP in terms of getting it replaced (past experience makes me not approach them). In a nutshell DON'T BUY THIS PHONE

5 out of 5 stars State of the Art.......2007-04-29

If you want a phone that is ahead of the times this PDA is for you. Do not order the 6945 upgraded one. It is a little faster but you loose the 2 Gig SD card slot! The Wifi mini card for the 6515 is better for the little speed the 6945 is no buy this still stands as state of the art in high end pda phones.
I have TOMTOM, with trafffic, The whole USA street maps on my card. Satelite link with google maps download smokes the rest for location and traveling. I will buy another one if nothing else comes up that is as good!
I find no problems with the phone and pda everything works well. No bugs that i could not fix.

1 out of 5 stars Dropped Calls.......2007-04-24

This is a pretty feature rich machine, but note -- it has some major technology issues. I started to have some calls dropped about 6 months ago. This problem seemed to get worse and worse untill I couldn't make a call without it being dropped. I tried to download the ROM and BIOS updates posted by HP on their support pages and spoke with a tech over at there. The end result after multiple hard resets and attempts to download a series of patches they asked me to send it in to them so they could restore the factory resets. Instead, I decided to use my old phone and wait till June for a iPhone. Never buying a HP machine again.

5 out of 5 stars Love my iPAQ 6515a .......2006-10-31

Excellent phone with: Superb MMS (text mail via telephone #), POP3 mail, PUSH mail, GPRS Internet access (works great), Wi-Fi SDIO slot (for wi-fi access), an integrated GPS, nice digital camera, a clear & bright color display with wide brightness adjustments possible, a light smoke colored fold-down cover (not pictured) for screen protection (when stowed - and is removable), finger or included stylus both very effective, dialable number via touch screen or via iPAQ keyboard (tedious), excellent stereo headset/telephone hands-free adaptor (works great both ways), MP3 player (using SD card, 1GB from Best Buy - $30), solid cradle w/easy hot syncs (USB) & charging (in cradle), vivid color display, easy to use as a handset, hands-free (stereo) wired phone, or with a wireless blue-tooth headset.

I have no idea why anyone would complain about this device. If the display were larger, the keyboard would have to be compromised (and I don't want that - MMS/Blackberry function would suffer). QWERTY keyboard works fine, so I have no complaints with the device.

The rechargable battery & internal memory batteries both work great. Recommend a protective case from 3rd party - HP's clip-on works, but everyone has their own idea about what is best; there are plenty of good pouch-type or synthetic carriers.

I highly recommend this smartphone to anyone who wants it all: GPS, GPRS, wi-fi (with SDIO card), external memory via SD, MS Word, Excel, Clearvue Presentation, a built-in digital camera (works fine, by the way, and is highly adjustable), MSN messenger, Windows media player, Contact info, and a very robust Calendar program. Enjoy. Debug the critics.

This is a very nice machine. Buy it.

1 out of 5 stars Buyer Beware........2006-10-23

Great idea, but lack of execution with HP. I would expect quality and reliability from HP, but this is absolutely the worst phone I have ever owned..next to my Palm Treo. I've owned this phone for 10 months and have had to replaced it 7 times due to software and hardware problems. Upgrading to the latest bios resolved some of the software problems, but the phone still broke down due to joystick, microphone, and poor reception. The only useful feature of this phone is the GPS. Once my contract expires in 2 months, I'm getting a new phone and use this thing only for the GPS...or until it breaks again.

Nokia still makes the best phone.
