TravelDrive I.D. takes the guesswork out of remembering what is stored on your USB flash drive and how much free space is available. The TravelDrive I.D. is equipped with a customizable LCD screen that displays the used and available spaces on the drive via a miniature bar chart. The LCD can display up to 11 characters to help the user designate a name to the drive, add a date, or identify the contents stored on it. The advanced Surface Stabilized Cholesterin (SSC) LCD allows the information on the LCD display to be viewable even when the drive is not connected to a PC. This allows the user to identify what's on the drive without the need to plug it back into a USB port.

I bought this mainly because of the LCD display and the ability to see how much space is left on the drive. Overall this a great drive for the "coolness" factor alone but it is a tad too large to make it truely portable.

*** Plus Points Include:***

- LCD display that shows a user defined title as well as amount of free space remaining.

- LCD remains active even after the unit is disconnected from the USB port.

- USB 2.0 compliant so it has decent file transfer speeds

- Solid Construction that seems like it will hold up to everyday abuse

- Comes with a neckstrap.

*** Negative Points include: ***

- Quite a bit larger than the smallest drives out on the market

- The LCD display does not show you what files are actually in the drive, it merely displays a title that you select.

- The Blue activity light does not really match the overall green theme of the drive.

- Does not come with a keyring attachment

- Cap does not have an attachment so it is possible to lose it.

- As with most USB drives, you do not get the full 512mb to use. Also it loads an icon called LCMonitor although there is no documentation about what this does.

Overall this is a USB drive that sets itself apart from the rest of the crowd with its handy LCD display. If it were smaller and had some way of scrolling through the file names it would be the perfect USB drive.
