Editing functions are included, and thumbnail images lead to easy navigation to chapters. VCR Plus is also added for ease of recording your favorite programs. i.Link Digital Input enables video and audio streaming without loss of quality. It also allows you to copy DVDs of home video to share or edit. Editing Function will erase sections of recorded scenes easily in addition to renaming the displayed titles. The thumbnail image for chapter selection can be changed to any image you choose, and chapter marks can be added for quick scene selection. Universal Remote controls all functions of the DVD-RW recorder and will also control another manufacturer's TV- power, volume, channel selection. Analog Input allows you to connect other video sources for recording. There are 3 S-video /composite video inputs. Progressive Output delivers color clarity and dynamic picture quality. EZ Setup / Auto Clock detects all air and cable channels and also sets the clock by your local PBS station. The DV-RW2U records up to 4.7 gigabytes (GB) of data at a spell, making it ideal for preserving and archiving digital photographs, home videos, and presentations with high picture and sound quality.

Unlike VHS tapes, the DV-RW2U offers a main menu for easy searching and chapter replay. DVD-RWs can be re-recorded up to 1,000 times. You can also record on standard DVD-R and play back formats like CD-RW, CD-R, and standard CDs. The DV-RW2U's enhanced disc-navigation system with thumbnail display provides instant scene choice from a disc's table of contents. It's possible to record up to eight programs with the touch of a button using timer recording. The "Just Recording" feature checks the disc capacity each time you insert a DVD-RW, and not only does it determine how much additional space is left, but it will never record over a disc without first alerting you.
