Amazon.com Product Description
The DVA-2610 is a potent little entertainment system that does everything from playing DVDs and assorted CDs to giving the singer inside you an outlet for your passion through its karaoke microphone input and multiple digital effects settings. All that, and it processes both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround signals and lets you immerse yourself in their enveloping sounds with the help of five compact satellite speakers and a powered subwoofer that drives home the low end. The DVA-2610 pumps out 15 watts x 5 (left, right, center, left/right surrounds), and the standalone sub puts out 50 watts all on its own.

The DVA-2610 offers a range of outputs to match a different TV, from high-resolution component-video (which help minimize digital and line-scan artifacts on compatible advanced televisions) to standard composite- and S-video. There's a stereo analog (left/right RCA) input for an MP3 player or VCR or cable box, but please be aware that the receiver has no video inputs, so multiple video devices will require multiple inputs on your TV (or use of a video switcher, not supplied, which can also be instrumental in modulating composite- or S-video signals into RF coaxial signals, as required by some older TVs).

Surround-sound signals can be routed through the DVD/receiver's digital-audio outputs (one each of RCA coaxial and Toslink optical) for hookup with a CD or minidisc recorder. For most listening, however, you'll use the receiver's own digital processor and speaker outputs to the supplied speakers. Here you'll get to enjoy the unit's 96 kHz/24-bit digital-to-analog converter, which happens to process commercial CDs encoded with HDCD (High-Definition Compatible Digital), a 20-bit system that delivers better sound than is possible through standard CDs (look for the logo on your disc packaging).

A range of equalization choices await you, from presets (rock, pop, live, techno, classic, and soft) to electronic bass and treble controls and not one but two additional bass-boost settings. Virtual Surround simulates surround sound from any two-channel program, and Dolby Pro Logic II generates discrete 5.1-channel signals from any stereo audio--whether movies, TV, or music.

The system offers parental password protection, video settings for sharpness, brightness, and contrast, and an FM/AM tuner.

What's in the Box
DVD player/integrated surround amplifier, five satellite speakers, a powered subwoofer, a remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, a composite-video interconnect, a stereo analog audio interconnect, all requisite speaker cabling, an FM antenna, an AM antenna, and a warranty card.
