Editorial Review:
Product Description
The HT-DB120 provides the right footprint with features like progressive scan video allowing superior non-interlaced images to be sent and 3: 2 pulldown technology which instantly displays content originally shot at the 24 frame per second standard.
Amazon.com Product Description
The HT-DB120 merges the basic components of a home theater into one compact and silvery system, delivering simplicity and convenience for people seeking quality home entertainment in a surprisingly affordable package. The HT-DB120 spins DVD-Video, video CD, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3 and WMA (Windows Media Audio) CD, as well as Kodak Picture CD/JPEG CD--great for living-room slideshows of your digital photos; you can even pick one to be the wallpaper for the player's onscreen menu.

The amplifier distributes 40 watts per channel to each of the system's 5 compact satellite speakers (left, center, right, and left/right surround), while the standalone subwoofer packs a potent 50 watts.

All major movie surround signals are decoded and routed to their appropriate speakers: Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic II (which generates 5.1 surround from any stereo source, whether movie or music), and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound. The system includes an AM/FM radio tuner with 30 preset memory settings, and a headphone jack for private or late-night listening.

The system's progressive-scan component-video output prepares you for the future, with the ability to use the system in conjunction with a high-definition or HD-ready television. Smooth progressive-scan images are free from even the slightest hint of blurring or distortion, bringing new realism to DVD movies and other selections.

The HT-DB120 also performs 3:2 pulldown detection--an unexpected inclusion at this price. DVD mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24-frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; reverse 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture.

What's in the Box
DVD player/integrated surround amplifier, 5 satellite speakers, a powered subwoofer, AM/FM antennas, a remote control, remote batteries, a user's manual, and all requisite cabling.

5 out of 5 stars This Thing Is Great.......2007-06-06

I am very pleased with this device. Can't ask for a better way to charge your device as it is connected to your desktop or laptop. At $12.99 you can't go wrong.

1 out of 5 stars poor design of a docking station.......2007-03-17

the USB connector does not stick out far enough for the phone to make a connection, I had to break open the case to fix it just to get it to work. very cheap design.

1 out of 5 stars poor quality, barely works.......2007-02-09

Got to find a way to return this. The unit looks good but is built poorly. The usb connector is not mounted to the base so the first thing that happens when you connect the phone is that the usb connector gets pushed into the base and doesn't connect. After fishing it out, I managed to hold it in place so I could connect the phone. The sync with the PC works fine but charging is a bust. Don't know if they use the wrong pwr supply or it's just mis-wired. The phone doesn't charge - it just gets hot!
