5 out of 5 stars Still Works Great After 1 Year..........2007-01-31

I've had this computer for about a year now and it's been great so far. I can't imagine anyone disliking it for any reason. It's fast, reliable, easy to use, and looks cool. I use it instead of a desktop for college coursework, email, and other things like watching movies and playing around with Photoshop. It's never overheated or malfunctioned in any way. Everyone I know has all sorts of complaints about their home computers behaving badly so I can't help but appreciate my good ol' Toshiba Satellite ...even though it is bright orange. Okay, I even like that it's bright orange, I admit it.

    5 out of 5 stars The BEST!!!.......2006-07-01

I've had this laptop for a week. Best purchase I've made in years. Very fast. Display is amazing. 120 gig harddrive. The software toshiba installs is great. I got this laptop for 700 bucks but its well worth 1499.99.

    1 out of 5 stars Big Mistake/Disappointment.......2006-04-28

I am not the world's greatest computer geek by a long shot, but I do pretty well at work with HPs, Dells, etc. I have these at work and at home, and have had for years. When they arrived, there were directions, which were easy to follow, and numbers to call if there were problems.

Finally, I was in a position to purchase an upscale wireless computer. After much research, excitement and debate, I chose this one. It arrived several days ago when I was gone, and now, when I try to set it up, it is a DISASTER. There are no logical and cogent directions, just a couple of little mundane booklets; these are not easily understood or followed; there is nothing in the table of contents which is relevent to me: eg."charging battery." I could go on for pages.

I would give this back in a minute. BUT, I will find someone to help me, and maybe this thing will work.

5 out of 5 stars this laptop is incredible!!.......2006-03-25

cool!!! i purchased this laptop two months ago and it is by far the best investment i have made in my life! this product is so useful, and i utilized its awesome power within thirty minutes of opening the box. the incredible and above-average memeory size for this laptop is great for gaming and runs the Wi-Fi internet like a desktop would run. i would most definitely buy another toshiba and i will definitely use the one i have for many years to come. This laptop's battery power is great also! the 3 past laptops I've had Sony Vaio, an HP, and, an apple haven't run as well as this amazing pice of engineering and machinery. Definitely buy this item!

5 out of 5 stars Big and beautiful and powerful and fast.......2006-02-24

This laptop can take your breath away. I have had a Toshiba Satellite M35 for two and a half years. It has proven tough and quite reliable for that time, but even though it remained serviceable, the time had come to either thoroughly upgrade it, or bite the bullet and replace it.

This new 17 inch machine was the answer. The first thing that grabs your attention is the display. It is bright, really bright, and its colors are very deep and very true. Going from a 15.4 inch display to a 17 inch display may not seem like much but it seems like going from a VW to a Land Rover. The screen size easily accommodates my Google Desktop in the sidebar mode without cramping web pages, Word documents or spreadsheets. When you think about it this means you can be more productive and use these new technologies intuitively rather than having them interfere with the underlying mission.

Secondly this big laptop is incredibly fast. The Centrino 740 M chip is far more powerful than the 1.4 GHz processor in the previous Satellite.

Thirdly, everywhere you look there are accommodations for other media from the Fire-Wire to the S-video port to the 5 in 1 memory card reader to the dual layer DVD burner. The sound quality is much better than average.

Battery life is impressive, and the 802.11g Wi-Fi means you connect at 54 Mbps, rather than 11. The huge hard drive seems destinedd to work with the new video technologies. The unit weighs in at 7.3 pounds which is not bad considering its huge display. A trial version of Microsoft Office 2003 is a nice touch.

The M65-S21 is reasonably priced, and offers a great deal of value to business users.
