Stubbiness is in! The CDM180 phone from Verizon Wireless takes the classic clamshell design and widens it a bit, enabling the phone to sport a unique widescreen display under the flip. Plus, the CDM180 features dual 262,000-color displays, a speakerphone, a VGA camera with video capture, voice dialing, and more.

Learn more about the CDM180 from Verizon Wireless.

Design
The key benefit of the CDM180's flattened frame is that it accommodates a widescreen 160 x 128 display. The advantages of such a display become clear when you take a picture or video with the VGA (640 x 480) camera unit, which is housed in the top of the device. Instead of having to hold the phone sideways, you can view your subjects as you would on a dedicated digital camera, making framing your shots much easier. A wider screen also makes viewing menus and numbers easier. Plus, gaming is way more fun with more screen real estate. A smaller secondary color LCD display on the back of the cover displays incoming call information, network signal strength, and more. Most camera features and onscreen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's control pad. Meanwhile, an external antenna is placed on the top right side of the unit.

Calling Features
The CDM180's built-in address book can store your contacts for quick and easy management of phone numbers and e-mail addresses. The phone comes with built-in polyphonic ringtones and it also supports MP3 ringtones. There's also a vibrating alert for those times when you want to be discreet. Meanwhile, a built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear, and GPS location technology pinpoints your exact location when you dial 911. Voice dialing makes calling contacts as easy as saying their names. Lastly, the phone's picture and ringer ID system allows you to assign pictures and ringtones to your most common callers.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The CDM180 is a messaging powerhouse with support for Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS), which allows you to send picture messages as easily as text and graphics. When used in combination with the phone's built-in camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. T9 text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier to enter words and text on handsets, is built in to the unit--a plus for mobile e-mail and text messaging users.

Getting on the Internet anywhere is easy with this phone, as well. Verizon's optional Mobile Web 2.0 package allows you to read and send e-mails and view your favorite Web content on your phone. You can check your e-mail, trade stocks online, compare prices while shopping, access flight information, get movie listings, and find directions to the theater.

Verizon's Get It Now wireless download service is also fully compatible with the CDM180. This pay-per-download service features application downloads, games, and productivity tools. You can also personalize your handset with ringtone downloads and digital photo-sharing tools using the Get It Now service.

To keep you productive on the go, the CDM180 ships with a calendar, a calculator, and an alarm clock.

Imaging and Entertainment
The CDM180 really shines in the digital imaging department. The VGA camera features a flash for getting great night time shots. And the fun doesn't stop with taking pictures. The phone is BREW enabled, meaning it supports games written on the BREW platform; many games are available via the Get It Now service. The phone also features customizable screen backgrounds so you can make your phone reflect your personality.

Vital Statistics
The CDM180 weighs 3.7 ounces and measures 3.0 by 2.10 by 1.0 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 2.7 hours of digital talk time and up to 190 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the CDMA 850/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one-year limited warranty.
