With its compact frame and unbeatable price, you can't go wrong with Audiovox's shiny D1620 portable DVD player. The unit features a 6.2-inch LCD designed to match the widescreen (16:9 aspect ratio) dimensions of your favorite movies. It's compatible with DVD-Video, audio CD, CD-R, CD-RW, and MP3-encoded music discs. You can even enjoy an onscreen slideshow of your cherished digital photos from recordable CDs filled with JPEG image files. The player will play PAL-formatted discs, too, such as non-region-coded releases from the UK.

The player features switchable audio/video input/output jacks, letting you use it on the road for monitoring camcorder footage or gaming devices, or in the home as a high-quality video source device using the supplied AV cables.

A supplied AC/DC power adapter lets you save batteries during indoor use, while a rechargeable lithium-ion battery provides around 2 hours of playback when you're on the go (power consumption depends on the operations of the player, such as screen brightness, volume level, etc).

Ideal for road use, D1620 includes a vehicle DC power adapter so you can save batteries on long trips. Listen through the unit's built-in stereo speakers or through headphones (not included).

This is my first laptop, and so far I have had no problems with it. I use it for work, and it is really serving it's purpose well. I like the keyboard especially (I do a lot of typing). I looked at others in the same price range and this one just had a nicer "fit." Great laptop for the price!

This system has a "chiclet style" keyboard with small plastic shells attached on top of the key mechanisms. On my system, several keytops had a nasty habit of falling off. They are not easy to attach back on the keyboard, and eventually will not attach at all.

I called HP customer service. They offered to bring the computer back in for service, replace/repair the keys, then send the computer back to me. Since I had purchased the computer in anticipation of a rather long overseas trip, there was no time for the suggested repair procedure. No alternatives were available for a faster replacement.

The warranty covers the US only. I would have to pay for any repairs performed outside the US.

This became an expensive lesson on avoiding supposedly "brand name quality".
