The ultimate in space-saving convenience, Apex's GT2715DV offers everything from DVD playback to digital surround-sound output, MP3 music playback, and compatibility with both JPEG and KODAK Picture CDs for enjoying shots from a digital camera right in your living room. The 27-inch set uses a Pure Flat picture tube, which not only looks cool compared with a conventional, bulbous screen, but also provides a high-quality, high-contrast picture--partly owing to the screen's ability to reduce reflected ambient light. DVD features include fast and slow forward motion, frame-by-frame advance, programmable sequencing, a built-in screen saver, and picture zoom (2x, 4x).
The set provides stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from broadcast programming via Multi-channel Television Sound (MTS), which permits broadcasters to encode stereo audio within the video portion of TV programming signals. You can choose between two sets of rear composite- and S-video-equipped AV inputs and a set of front AV inputs for extra convenience. A rear AV output and a coaxial digital-audio output (for Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1-channel surround sound) let you hook up the set to a surround receiver.
The set also features a trilingual onscreen display (English, Spanish, French), closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, auto-off, and a unified remote control.
