The four-head VCR's clock time conveniently sets itself when the unit is used within range of a PBS broadcast station. Other VCR features include automatic rewind at the end of a tape, sleep and wake-up timers. The VCR features automatic head cleaning and a 1-year, 8-event recording timer. In addition to programmable timer recording and daily and weekly timed recording, one-touch timed recording of anywhere from 30 to 480 minutes. The single-disc DVD player is also compatible with video that you burn to DVD-R/RW and DVD R/RW discs, as well as audio (both CD and MP3 format) burned to CD-R/RW discs. You can also scan through movies at 100x normal speed, and view DVDs in slow motion, in both forward and reverse as well as frame by frame. It offers virtual surround sound as well as a coaxial digital audio output for Dolby Digital 5.1-channel surround sound via a stereo receiver.
