Amazon.com Product Description
The 23-inch Samsung LN-S2341W is made for viewers who crave the amazingly crisp, lifelike images of high definition television, but who don't watn to take out a second mortgage. This 23-inch set is a great choice for medium-sized bedrooms, home offices, and kitchens. A great value but also packed with some of Samsung's latest technological advances, the LN-S2341W is ready for HDTV when paired with a cable or satellite set-top box or optional receiver. It features a built-in 181-channel NTSC tuner that can accommodate up to 125 standard cable channels. It's also nicely stylish, with a shiny black cabinet housing two side speakers and an oval, black tabletop stand.

The LN-S2341W delivers a true 1366 x 768-pixel HDTV resolution (capable of displaying 1080i and 720p high-definition signals), and a very fast 8ms (millisecond) response time, which is great for watching fast-moving. sports and action movies. It features a wide 170-degree viewing angle, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating--perfect for viewing colorful details in even direct sunlight--and a dynamic contrast ratio up to 3000:1. While viewing either very bright or very dark scenes, it can be difficult to distinguish main images which blend into the background. Samsung's Dynamic Contrast feature dramatically mitigates this problem by adjusting the backlight intensity, providing up to a 3x improvement in contrast. Other features include:

The LN-S2341W has two built-in side-mounted stereo speakers that produce 3 watts of power per channel (for 6 watts of total power). The auto volume leveler keeps audio volume consistent during channel changing. This Samsung LCD TV can function as a high-resolution PC monitor and a high-end TV without any sacrifice in picture quality. In fact, it outperforms PC monitors in brightness, response time, resolution, and, of course, screen size. It offers the following connection options:

Tech Talk
A microdisplay television typically offers a large screen with a cabinet that's deeper than standard LCD and plasma screens, but far more compact than old-school cathode-ray television (CRTs). This rear-projection TV projects red, green, and blue light that's filtered through a pixel-filled microchip color wheel and directed onto a digital micromirror device (DMD), a chip with millions of hinged, microscopic mirrors attached, which switches on and off up to 5,000 times a second. The reflected light is directed through a lens and onto a screen, creating an image. Unlike rear-projection CRT sets, all microdisplays can get quite bright without losing detail, so they're perfectly watchable in brightly lit rooms.

HDMI is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link any audio/video source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver) with your TV--all over a single cable. HDMI supports standard, enhanced or high definition video, plus multi-channel digital audio on a single cable. It supports all ATSC formats--standard (SDTV), enhanced (EDTV), and high (HDTV).

    3 out of 5 stars I'm torn!!!.......2007-03-08

I switched to T-Mobile from Cingular because they had offered me more minutes and unlimited text messaging for the same price that I was paying Cingular for 400 less minutes and 3000 text messages (yeah, I text alot). Amazon gave me an awesome deal on a $400 phone, so I just knew that I had to make the switch! Its been a month now, but I'm really wishing that I had stuck things out with Cingular. T-Mobile's signal is terrible and I'm always dropping calls. The phone that I got keeps freezing up on me and I've had to have them completely reset it twice in the last month, meaning that each time they had to do this I lost ALL of the information that I had saved/programmed into my phone. Recently, my phone has been operating more smoothly and I'm starting to love it, but I'm still having a very hard time dealing with their signal issues. I miss Cingular, but hopefully in the end I will be happy that I made the switch (I know my bank account is definitely cheering).
