Amazon.com Product Description
Save space and enjoy a wonderfully vivid picture with the stylish, 32-inch Toshiba 32HL95 widescreen LCD TV, a great choice for your living room's entertainment center. It has a built-in analog/digital (NTSC/ATSC) tuner that will receive free over-the-air HDTV signals and is Digital Cable Ready (via the CableCard slot), so you can enjoy digital cable without an additional box or remote using an optional CableCard. It also comes with TV Guide On Screen and Toshiba's innovative Channel Browser "back" button feature--similar to a PC browser back button--that allows easy access to recently viewed channels. The 32HL95 makes it easy to connect to brilliant imagery with its component and HDMI connections, and it can also double as a PC monitor.

The 32HL95's video is powered by the PixelPure AT digital video processor, which offers motion adaptive de-interlacing, adaptive MPEG processing, and adaptive contrast and color enhancement for a consistently high picture quality. The HD Dynamic Contrast feature increases Contrast and Color Saturation to create deep, rich images, analyzing both the dark and bright areas of the picture, and separately optimizing the dynamic range in each area of the picture.

The 32HL95 has a widescreen 16:9 aspect ratio--perfect for high-definition telecasts and DVD movies--1366 x 768-pixel resolution, fast 12 ms (millisecond) response time, wide 170-degree viewing angle, 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, and amazing 800:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.) It supports 720p (HDTV), 480p (EDTV), and 480i (SDTV) video formats.

The 3D Y/C digital comb filter constantly analyzes the three dimensions of picture height, picture width, and picture changes-over-time, to reduce dramatically edge image artifacts while improving transition detail. The Digital Cinema progressive scan (3-2 inverse pulldown) function provides accurate, smooth film reproduction. Other features include a sleep timer, V-Chip parental controls, color temperature adjustment, tri-lingual on-screen menus (English, French, Spanish), channel labeling, and closed captioning on mute.

The 32HL95 has two stereo speakers that provide 10 watts of power per channel (for 20 watts of total power) and SRS 3D and SRS WOW virtual surround sound modes. This TV offers the following video and audio connections:

Tech Talk
HDMI -- HDMI makes an uncompressed digital RGB connection from the source to the screen. By eliminating conversion to an analog signal, it delivers an unblemished image. The non-degraded signal reduces flicker and leads to a clearer picture. HDMI intelligently communicates the highest output resolution with the source device. The HDMI input is fully backward compatible with DVI sources but includes digital audio. HDMI uses HDCP copy protection.

If you're looking for one compact device that can do it all, here's the answer. The T-Mobile MDA combines a quad-band phone with a Windows Mobile 5.0 PDA with all the bells and whistles: Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, a miniSD card slot, support for EDGE high speed data, and more. And don't forget the unique slide-out QWERTY keyboard that makes messaging, note-taking, and other writing tasks a breeze.

<small><b>Browse the Web with ease, and type to your heart's content with the MDA's full QWERTY keyboard. See it in action.</b><small></td></tr> </table> The MDA lets you do things you'd typically need a PC to do, like email, text messaging, instant messaging and web browsing-- all from one integrated device. What's more, the phone's software is designed to sync seamlessly with email, contacts and calendar information on your PC. The MDA also offers great mobile music and video options, thanks to Windows Media Player. <P> <B>Design</B>
Under the hood, the MDA features 128MB of RAM and a 200 MHz processor. Up front, the 240 x 320 LCD touch-screen supports 65,000 colors, while the rear of the device houses a 1.3 megapixel camera. The design of the MDA is clean and uncluttered, with just a few buttons for mail, Internet Explorer, and contextual menus. Meanwhile, call answer and end buttons surround a a five-way toggle that allows you to navigate and control the Windows Mobile interface. As mentioned, a full QWERTY keyboard cleverly slides out from underneath the screen. This allows you to hold the device horizontally, and the screen is automatically placed in landscape mode when you're using the keyboard. A mini-SD memory expansion card slot is provided, as is an infrared port and a 2.5mm headphone jack. A mini-USB port is also included for wired data transfers.

<B>Calling and PDA Features</B>
The MDA's phone and PDA functions are designed to provide an integrated, seamless experience. A single main screen summarizes all the important information you need to make it through the day. Here you'll get message notification, upcoming appointments, dialing functions, tasks, and more all in one spot.

As a phone, the MDA features all the functionality folks expect from a cell phone, including a handsfree speakerphone, polyphonic ringtones, a vibrate mode, and picture and ringer ID. Microsoft Office Outlook Mobile combines email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes into a single application that seamlessly integrates with the MDA's phone functions. Meanwhile, headsets, car kits and other wireless peripherals can also be paired with the unit via Bluetooth (the Bluetooth 1.2 specification is supported).

Staying productive on the road is made possible by the Microsoft Office Mobile suite, which includes Word Mobile, Excel Mobile, and PowerPoint Mobile. Meanwhile, the File Explorer application makes it easy to browse the files on your MDA.

Like all T-Mobile phones, the MDA also supports voicemail, caller ID, conference calling, call forwarding, call waiting, call hold, built-in paging, and access to T-Mobile's 411 service.

<B>Messaging and Internet</B>
Using T-Mobile's EDGE-powered internet service, you can surf the Web with the bundled Internet Explorer application, or use MSN messenger to stay in contact via instant messaging. Plus, the inclusion of Wi-Fi (802.11 b/g) in the MDA allows you to surf the Web or check your email at blazing speeds when you're connected to a Wi-Fi network. With the purchase of T-Mobile Hotspot data service, you can get online at thousands of locations coast-to-coast. Lastly, robust SMS and MMS functionality is built into the Windows Mobile interface, too.

One of the most important tools bundled with the MDA is Microsoft ActiveSync, which allows you to quickly synchronize your device's tasks, calendars, email, and contacts with your desktop. You also get Exchange ActiveSync, an application that lets you synchronize data with an Exchange server. Syncing can be done via USB, or wirelessly via Bluetooth or infrared.

<B>Imaging and Entertainment</B>
Another great feature of the MDA is that it supports Windows Media playback right out of the box. With Windows Media Player, you can play streaming and downloaded video and audio content in a variety of formats, even purchased music from "Plays For Sure" supporting stores. You can also keep your tunes loaded on a memory card and listen to your music wherever you roam.

As mentioned, the MDA can take 1.3 megapixel (1280x1024) pictures, and while the camera is great for taking stills, it can also function as a camcorder, allowing you to capture video to the unit's memory. An integrated media application organizes your captured photos and videos. For gamers, the phone supports Java-based and Windows Mobile games.

<B>Vital Statistics</B>
The T-Mobile MDA weighs 5.64 ounces and measures 4.25 x 2.28 x 0.93 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 5 hours of digital talk time, and up to 200 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the 850/900/1800/1900 MHz GSM/GPRS/EDGE frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

3 out of 5 stars Good PDA Phone.......2007-06-01

I have had this phone for almost a year now. I have not had any major issues. Though a little slippery to hold. The bad part about the keyboard is that you have to use two hands for it. I have been reading about people losing their stylus', I haven't had that problem so far. I have added a 2GB mini SD card for my tunes. Although this phone does not like Macs, it is a good windows device which requires occasional reset. A built-in task manager would help.

On paper this phone is the best thing since sliced bread.
In action this phone stinks!

I've had this abomination for 4 months and it was the bees knees for the first two. Four months later and:
1. The stylus will not stay in the holder. I have replaced it 3 times because they fall out as soon as I put them in.
2. The touch screen is completely DOA. You can still navigate enough to send/ receive calls but the PDA functions are now useless.
3. The phone randomly mutes my calls, I believe this is due to the malfunctioning touch screen.

As I said earlier, this phone was awesome when I first bought it. But there is NO durability built in. None! If you put it in a case, you cannot use the touch screen and you have to remove it from the case to text.

Ugh! I know I am ranting but this phone is a major source of frustration in my life. I am about to buy a 8800 from Cingular and pay T-mobile their $200 cancellation fee.

I have had this phone for just about a year. Just before the one year contract was about to be over, the stylus started slipping out of the phone. I lost 2 quick stylus's in quick succession. I called T-mobile to report this problem, and I was told that the warranty period is over and that I should call HTC( the manufacturer of this phone) to get the phone fixed.

I later researched on the Web and found out that HTC's design is pretty poor.
A lot of people had problems with the stylus holder in the MDA.

Cons
- Clumsy to hold in the hands(Quite slippery)
- No easy way to dial without a stylus
- Difficult to navigate contacts( A wheel scroll would have been helpful)
- Phone is very delicate and cannot be handled roughly, like a phone.
- Poor warranty, when you are spending a fortune for this device

Pros
- one less device to carry, if you use a PDA and phone

I've been using the MDA for about three months now and I am already on my fourth device (original + 3 warranty replacements).

I have no complaints about the features and usability of the device, only the reliability. For the first two months, everything was great. Then the problems started.

The original phone's messaging feature stopped working. I was unable to access or receive any type of messages (text or e-mail). The only way to resolve this was a hard reset which is very time consuming and annoying. A hard reset restores all factory settings. The messaging problem resurfaced again after a few days.

T-mobile sent me a replacement phone. One week later it's messaging feature stopped working too.

Tmobile sent me a second replacement phone. This one only worked for about 6 hours and then started giving problems. The device would lock up and become unusable. No buttons worked and the touch screen didn't work. Not able to perform a hard reset because touch screen didn't work.

I received my third replacement (fourth MDA total) two days ago. I have no doubt that this one will soon turn into a paperweight also.

Also keep in mind that these repalcements come via UPS, not in-store exchanges. I've been without a phone for many days during this process.

A tmobile rep told me that HTC no longer manufactures the MDA and the replacements I'm receiving are refurbished units. Great!

The only option tmoble gives me for a new device is the DASH. They will not let me choose which phone to switch too because the DASH is the only one device from the same manufacturer.

I would advise waiting to see if Tmobile comes out with a new device this fall or select a completely different device.

I hope this info helps.

I think this is a nice phone with all pocketpc functionality. It has bluetooth, wirelessLAN, GPRS, EDGE, IrDA and all you may need.. One of the best feature is its builtin large&backlit keyboard. It makes a lot easier to type messages (SMS, email, etc...) I can also use it with Tomtom6 for GPS navigation. This is one of the best in the market...
