Slim down your entertainment center with the Panasonic TC-22LR30, which combines a 22-inch, HD-ready LCD TV with a DVD recorder that also offers multi-format audio and image playback capabilities. Intended for high-end home-theater use, the unit's 1,280 x 720-pixel resolution is enhanced by a 500:1 contrast ratio, 450 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating, super-fast 16 ms (millisecond) response time, and 170-degree viewing angle. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)
The DVD recorder can record TV programming onto either DVD-RAM or DVD-R discs, and it provides four recording modes, for a maximum of 8 hours of recorded material. There's also the FR (Flexible Recording) mode that lets you record with the best picture quality possible for the recording time and remaining space on the disc. It's also compatible with playing CD-R/RW discs as well as MP3 and JPEG files. This widescreen TV features a width-to-height ratio similar to movie theater screens, providing a theater-like experience at home. Panasonic's LCD AI technology provides the luminance distribution in real-time and then boosts gradation in the luminance areas containing the greatest number of image elements. The result is outstanding detail, depth and realism in areas such as the backgrounds behind movie subtitles, and the brightest objects in dark scenes.
The 3D Y/C digital comb filter analyzes consecutive scanning lines within a field as well as the preceding and following fields. This results in improved detail and color purity, a more stable video image, and nearly eliminating dot crawl and color bleeding. It has two built-in, 63-watt stereo speakers for 6 watts of total power, and it features the following video connections:
