Featuring 800 x 600 resolution and 16.7 million colors, the Audiovox FP-2000 20-inch LCD monitor connects to both traditional broadcast outlets and PCs to deliver superior video performance. Because LCD TVs don't have picture tubes--they're actually two glass plates with liquid crystal material between them--they take up far less space than traditional CRT televisions, and this model is no exception, with a depth of only 2.5 inches (without stand). The FP-2000 is so thin that it takes up the same room as the average wall hanging, yet its picture quality is still robust. When on the stand, the monitor rotates 40 degrees in both directions for a wider viewing angle, and 25 degrees upward as well.

Viewers who appreciate authentic movie reproductions will enjoy the 16:9 enhanced aspect ratio, which maximizes the picture area of the screen for select anamorphic widescreen DVDs. The unit also includes many traditional TV favorites, such as a sleep timer (with settings that range from 30 to 120 minutes), a V-chip parental control that regulates mature programming, channel recall, closed captioning, and custom picture settings. The TV also offers a host of additional functions when used as a PC monitor.

The TV also offers a solid audio package, with a 6-watt speaker system (3 watts x 2) and MTS decoding. Among the TV's sound modes are theater, news, hall, and custom--each meeting the needs of specific formats and audiences. The FP-2000 connects to other devices through the component video, S-video, and composite inputs, in addition to the VGA input, three audio inputs, and headphone jack.
