The Gateway 18-inch flat-panel TV offers a bright, sharp picture and a host of inputs for everything from DVD players to VCRs and camcorders, as well as a DTV-compatible RGB (15-pin D-Sub) input capable of accepting full high-definition video signals (480p, 720p, 1080i). Kitchens, bedrooms, offices, or dormitories will be equally well served by the set. Its onboard NTSC tuner grants immediate over-air reception, and an included table stand simplifies desk- or table-top positioning.

LCDs are more power-efficient than either CRTs or plasma screens. While they may not be as bright, overall, as plasmas, they get more wallet-friendly every month. You'll see none of the irritating scan lines or flickering that's visible on CRT sets or monitors, and you can forget about both ghosting and image burn-in, no matter how many hours a week you spend parked in front of your favorite video game.

Conveniences include auto channel programming, V-Chip parental controls, a power-saving sleep timer, and wide viewing angles well suited to desk use (160 degrees horizontal, 110 degrees vertical). Great Device but buy with CAUTION.......2006-09-17

The Data Traveler Elite with privacy was exactly what I was looking for - a way to carry important but sensitive files, software, passwords, etc. when I travel. Easier than dragging along my whole laptop. The device works very well for this. Provides fast data transfer and strong password encryption. There is one serious problem however and it was severe enough that I had to return the device for a refund. Plug this device into the USB port of any computer running Sonic CD writing software and that software will be trashed! It will likely damage software from other companies as well. I e-mailed Kingston tech support about this and they confirmed the incompatibility. This incompatibility is not described in any of the marketing literature or user information for the Data Traveler. However, it is a problem that cannot be resolved because of the way this device operates (or so I was told by Kingston). Sorta defeats the purpose. I was planning to use this when I traveled but I dare not use it in any of my friends' or relatives' computers for fear of trashing any CD writing software they may have installed. And what computer nowadays does not come with such software? Therefore, as I said - great device but buy with extreme caution if you intend to use it with any computer that has CD writing software on it.
