5 out of 5 stars SanDisk 2 GB Cruzer.......2007-06-09

This flash drive is everything that I expected and more. I love the built-in security offered, and the retractable connection should help to keep thing clean in my pockets :)

1 out of 5 stars Another User dissatisfied with U3.......2007-05-31

I bought this item elsewhere without knowing anything about U3 -- that's what I get for not reading the reviews here first. I can't use U3 at work because my employer has strict controls on the PCs. And I can't use it at home because I have a Mac. For the same reasons, I can't even run the d*!*@$ software SanDisk offers to remove U3. I returned the drive, and I won't buy another SanDisk product with U3 installed.

3 out of 5 stars Not bad, but not great either.......2007-05-25

I got this 2 GB flash drive a moth ago and have mixed feelings about it. I love that there is no cap, but I do worry that eventually the mechanism that pushes the flash drive out may break because it isn't very sturdy. Only time will tell though. What I have noticed is that it doesn't really stay in my USB that well. Sometimes, I will put the flash drive in and work for a few hours. I won't even touch the flash drive or move around, yet the flash drive pops out. It is only a little bit, but enough for you computer not to recognize it. It does the same thing on the 4 different computers that I work from. I have never had this problem with any other flash drive. What I also do not like about it is the U3 technology. I don't like having to worry about another thing on my computer just for a flash drive. For those that don't know, when you insert the flash drive it adds an icon to your toolbar. In order to stop the flash drive and remove it, you have to remove it from there instead of the regular icon. I guess it isn't that big if a deal, but it is just one more thing to have to worry about and remember. All in all, I'd buy it again if it were really cheap ($20 or less). But, unless you get a great deal on it, I would suggest spending more money on a better and more reliable flash drive.

5 out of 5 stars This is a useful tool.......2007-05-16

After reading the predominantly negative reviews from other customers, still did not sound that they were being fair with the utility of this product. After going ahead and purchasing and using this product it seems to me that it is very handy for the main purpose that differentiates it from any regular flash drive: allows access to pieces of software that may not be installed in public computers, with the additional features of security. The slowness of the load up is exaggerated by the reviewers, in my tests that was not an issue at all. Button line is that the U3 capability is optional, but a nice thing to have especially for oversees travelers like myself. I really liked this product.

Other people have had much better success with this product than I have. I'm very dissatisfied
with Sandisk's customer support.

This drive failed on me about after about 6 months of use on both Windows XP and Mac OS.

I contacted Sandisk customer support at sandisk.com who suggested a variety of things to try to
resurrect the drive on both Windows XP and Macintosh OS X. Nothing worked.
They then suggested I contact the RMA department to enact a return
and from that point on the RMA department and support have been completely silent.
They will not respond to email or support tickets.

I won't be purchasing any further Sandisk products if they won't honor issues covered under what they claim
is a two year warranty.
