Amazon.com Product Description
A great choice for smaller rooms or apartments, the 20-inch Toshiba 20HLV85 Theaterwide LCD television provides vividly colorful images from standard and high-definition television programming. It also includes a side slot-loading DVD player that's compatible with a wide variety of disc and format options. It offers a 720p (progressive) true HD display with a 1366 x 768-pixel resolution and 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, and it's capable of display HDTV with an optional high-definition receiver (this set includes a 125-channel NTSC tuner). It comes with a removable table stand, and this set can be wall-mounted with an optional kit.

You can use the 20HL85 as a computer monitor with its VGA 15-Pin D-sub input. In addition to its HD component-video input, the 20HLV85 has a HDMI input terminal for direct digital connection with an HD set-top box or HD Satellite receiver. This LCD TV has a 500 cd/m2 (candela per square meter) brightness rating and 500:1 contrast ratio. (The higher the contrast ratio, the greater a TV's ability to display subtle color details and not get washed out by ambient room light.)

In addition to DVD movie and CD audio discs, the integrated DVD player is also compatible with DVD-R/RW, CD-R/RW, and VCD discs and CDs burned with MP3 and WMA digital audio files. The JPEG Viewer enables the display of digital photographs captured in the JPEG format. Simply load the CD with your favorite photos and create custom slide shows with a few simple clicks of the player's remote control. With the Digital Picture Zoom interactive DVD feature, you can select an area of the picture you want to zoom in on and magnify it. Enhanced digital processing during moving video or freeze-frame playback produces superior color fidelity and resolution, even when you're zoomed in.

The 20HLV85 performs 3:2 pulldown detection and reversal, too--a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. To adapt 24 frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video, frames in the original movie must be duplicated; 3:2 pulldown digitally corrects this duplication by removing the redundant information to display a frame-accurate picture. A 3D Y/C comb filter (4 MB, 10-bit with Vertical Contour Correction) further enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). The HD Dynamic Contrast feature increases contrast and color saturation to create deep, rich images. The intelligent circuitry analyzes both the dark and bright areas of the picture, and separately optimizes the dynamic range in each area of the picture.

Convenience features include color temperature control, closed captioning on mute, sleep timer, tri-lingual on-screen display, V-Chip parental controls, video input labelling, channel labeling, and Toshiba's GameTimer feature, which allows parents to set the television to shut off after a specified period of time and stay off until a lockout key code is entered.

The speakers provide a total of 10 watts of power (5 watts per channel). The integrated virtual surround sound provides a simulated surround effect from sources that contain only a stereo soundtrack when output through the built-in speakers and headphone jack. This is an advantage when playing old DVD movies, or for use with home theaters not equipped with multi-channel playback compatibility.

This set offers the following connection options:

5 out of 5 stars Good value for the money! .......2007-05-13

While I have noticed that this unit is not the fastest, the transfer time I think it still pretty reasonable. It is more durable then I see most people giving it credit for, and it does not come out of the carry case as easily as some people say it will.

All in all, I have been impressed with this unit and would buy it again if I had the choose. Two gig, for me, is a nice size and is considerably cheaper than stepping up to the 4 gig option. I don't like that you cannot pick the color, but at the end of the day who cares about that?

Definitely a good product and worth what they charge for it here.

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Size. Finally........2007-04-27

I've had this dream, of having a USB flash drive I could carry on my keychain. I've tried, oh, I've tried. They always come with flimsy thread to hold it on your keyring, and sharp edges that hurt.

I've been staring longingly at this item for six months. Finally, Staples had a sale and I bought it for $20.

The rubber holder is smaller and much softer than a key. It has a plastic ring that fits on your keychain, so you can toss the floss. The stick iself is ridiculously tiny. It's smaller than a memory stick pro duo. SMALLER.

The software is stupid, but who cares? I didn't buy it for software. I bought it because it fits in my pocket.

4 out of 5 stars Too Thin.......2007-01-12

The design and colors are great, also the size, I just have a problem with my laptop because the Micro Vault is so thin that doesn't touch the contacts in the USB port. My laptop only recognize the device in 1 of 3 usb ports. I tried in other laptops and still have the same problem.

3 out of 5 stars Pretty much good for archiving only..........2006-10-10

Saw this for sale recently and picked it up despite already having a couple 1GB SanDisk micros as well as a 2GB one. I pretty much just got it since it was TINY. I figured it'd be slower than my others.

I was right. I can't give specific numbers as far as speed, but it's VERY noticeable. On my others, I can take a folder full of images and copy them and, BAM, it's all on the flash drive - almost no wait time at all. The same folder which took no time at all on my other drives takes a couple seconds on the Sony 2GB Micro Vault. I can only imagine what it'll be like if I were to try and copy a gig or so of data at once.

Okay, that was to be expected, maybe a little slower than I had hoped, but it's tolerable as long as you're not copying to and from ALL the time.

So, my recommendation is to use this one pretty much for archiving only. I use my sandisk 2GB drive to keep all my documents, portable applications, videos, and stuff that I'm transferring from one computer to another. This one, I'm just going to keep application setup files that I may need from time to time and that don't need to be copied, deleted, or moved around too often. Basically stuff that will STAY there.

So in other words, if you're need something to copy large files to and from frequently, I'd opt for something else. The small package is appealing, but it's not nice in terms of speed. If you just need something to store lot of stuff that won't be moved around a lot (my mom uses her to keep her photos on and to show to family), this is not only good enough, but it's small enough to impress everyone ;)

As for the virtual expander, it seems a bit pointless. The flash demo shows it compressing .doc and .xls files. Like my Word and Excel files need to be compressed! I've got 2GB worth of storage here, I don't think I'm worried about space with some Word files! But I digress. As mentioned in another review (it may have been for the 1GB version), most files these days that people will want to carry around frequently (.mp3, .mpg, .avi, .jpg, etc) are already compressed so much that this thing won't do much, if anything at all. I suppose it may come in handy if you REALLY need to get something on there and can't afford to delete anything else that's already there. But at that point, the 4GB ones will probably be cheaper and you'll have one of those anyway :P

My only other complaint is that the little case it comes with is kinda stupid looking and doesn't protect the whole card. But it does seem to hold it pretty well without risk of it slipping out. The color is quite annoying, too. The 1GB blue looks MUCH nicer. I don't know why they have to make these bright colors all the time. A black or clear one would have been just as nice :P

All in all, if you're not concerned with speed or just want one that's REALLY FREAKING SMALL, go for it.

Transfer Speed = 3/5
Size / Portability = 5/5
Accessories = 2/5
Pre-installed software = 3/5
Overall = 3/5

5 out of 5 stars Awesome flash drive.......2006-09-26

This is tiny, extremely tiny. It makes every other drive on the US market look bloated in comparison, and it's (at least now) the smallest available 2 GB drive on the market. Look at your USB port. It's half that thickness. I keep mine in my wallet, and it's just about the thickness of two credit cards.

And it's also pretty fast.

Buy it.
