With its great feature set, convenient connections, and stellar widescreen image, Zenith's 30-inch C30W46 is a lot of television. The set's flat, high-definition picture tube offers full 1080i HDTV resolution in a 16:9 dimension that closely matches the formatting of your favorite movies. The set also includes the ability to crop standard 4:3 images to fill the whole screen.

Images from a progressive-scan DVD player will look great in 480p, or hook up an outboard DTV receiver for true high-definition quality. The C30W46 will upconvert all incoming signals to 1080i or 480p resolution, so whatever your source, your video will always look its best. Selectable scan velocity modulation (off, high, low) dynamically varies the scanning speed of the electron beam to create clear, well defined images for the sharpest picture possible.

Other features include a 4H line filter, color temperature control, manual degaussing and tilt correction, black-stretch circuitry, 7 custom picture modes, level 2 XDS (extended data service), and user controls for contrast, brightness, tint, color, and sharpness.

Connections consist of 2 HD component-video inputs (480p, 1080i), 4 composite-video and 3 S-video inputs, and an RF coaxial inputs for older cable boxes or a reception-improving antenna. A set of fixed-level composite-video-based AV outputs lets you hook the set up with another component.

The left/right onboard 2-way speakers receive 7 watts per channel. Tone controls include adjustable bass and treble, with Dynamic Bass System on hand for emergency low-end reinforcement.

The Basics

Hard Drive: The 80 GB hard drive (4200 RPM) has become the average size for notebook PCs, but lower than found in comparable multimedia-centric notebooks. It provides enough capacity for storing documents, digital media files, and productivity software.

Processor: A lower-end cousin to AMD's XP processor line, the 1.8 GHz Mobile AMD Sempron 3000+ found in this notebook is speedy enough for everyday computing needs and running office productivity software, but won't be quite enough for higher-end video editing or 3D gaming. This processor features AMD's Cool'n'Quiet Technology, which conserves power while also keeping the notebook's decibels to a minimum. Memory: The 512 MB of installed RAM (333 MHz) is enough to get you started, but you'll want to add more RAM to handle today's demanding multimedia and productivity suites. It has a 2 GB maximum RAM capacity.

CD/DVD Drive: The multi-format, dual-layer DVD burner enables you to store up to 8.5 GB of data on a DL disc. It will also burn your favorite music mixes to CD.

The 17-inch LCD screen offers Averatec's proprietary AveraBrite technology, which helps keep things bright and readable even in direct sunlight, and it has a 1440 x 900-pixel widescreen, high-definition resolution. Video is powered by the ATI Radeon XPress 200M IGP video/graphics card, which delivers good, though not high-end, 3D graphics. It provides 128 MB of dedicated video RAM. The AV7115-EH1 has an integrated 54g wireless LAN that's fully compatible with 802.11b/g wireless networks. Good value.......2006-09-15

This laptop has everything I could reasonably need for my non-gaming lifestyle. It is a bit bare inside the box, but if you're reasonablly familiar with laptops already, this should be fine. The screen is HUGE and beautiful. DVD burner works nice, and comes with pre-installed burning software. I like the video capabilities, many USB 2 ports, and even a nice firewire port! For $650 total, this is a great deal!

Bad customer service.......2006-09-10

Pros: Price, Screen size, Full size keyboard

Cons: It comes with toll free number for assistance. Every time you call them you get to speak with hard headed rude and purely unprofessional customer service executive.
It does not come with any recovery disc. You have to create one by your self as soon as you start using your system.
No user manual except pdf file loaded on hard drive with is really unintuitive and useless. After scrolling through so many pages you never find what you are looking for.
If you play game for more then 20 min it gets really hot.

Over all its not a bad deal if you don't need any help from customer service, can do without recovery disc and user manual and don't play games.
