When used with a progressive-scan DVD player (or 480p-output DTV set-top box) you'll get seamless, razor-sharp images from favorite movies and concert videos. Zenith's groundbreaking display technology delivers superior image clarity, color, and brightness in a large-format television less than four inches thick.

Blowing away even the best LCD monitors in contrast (650:1 contrast ratio) and brightness (620 cd/m2), the screen offers 852 x 480p resolution that produces an extremely detailed image. RS-232 controls as well as NTSC, SD, VGA, SVGA and DVI inputs ensure the P42W22B's compatibility with DVD players, VCRs, computers, and other video sources. A plasma display also offers wider viewing angles than an LCD screen, providing considerable freedom in placing it. You can put it right between stereo loudspeakers, even if those speakers lack magnetic shielding: flat-panel screens are impervious to magnetic distortion.

Stunning features include aspect-ratio correction (intelligent resizing of video and computer images to 16:9 widescreen or conventional 4:3 aspect ratio) and Intelligent Image Scaling, which employs a Faroudja scan converter to seamlessly translate TV video data to PC formats without distortion or cropping in either 4:3 or 16:9 aspect ratios. Great, except..........2007-06-13

This laptop performs great and looks nice too. I only have 3 complaints/suggestions about it.

1. The recovery system is horrible. Doesn't come with a CD. Easy fix is to download from their website all the drivers, and then just have them handy when you reformat in the future.
2. The battery life starts of great, around 3 hours. But now a year later it is about 30 minutes.
3. The laptop get hot, VERY hot. So hot you can't touch the bottom without burning yourself. I was amazed it didn't overheat and shut down. But after about 10 months that started happening too. Since the machine is so small, there can't be good circulation. I would clean out the fan, but that would void warranty.

Overall though, I am very pleased.

This is a sleek, functional notebook with good speed. The small screen size is compensated by a crisp, clear image. For those who desire a light, compact and mobile laptop, consider this one. ports are easily accesible without having to turn the laptop around.

Cheap Laptop comes with some problem.......2006-08-26

My Got my laptop from Staples some time back. I ran perfact for first few months and then it started overheating. I called up the customer service and they said that it's normal for their laptop!!! I was amazed coz it gets so hot that you can't keep it on your laps and it turns itself off every 30 min.

After some time I decided to format my hard drive and my backup recovery CD didn't worked. I call up customer service again and paid around $20 for shipping and got it in mail within 10 days. Guess what, this CD doesn't work either. I called them again and they said I'll have to either buy the same CD again or ship laptop to them for repair. They will not send me a replacement/exchange CD for their mistake.

I decided to go ahead and buy all the software my self and its working fine except that it still overheat and Battery life has gone down to 12 min???

I am looking forward to sell it and buy a good laptop with nice review. Please buy this laptop only if you are getting it at throw away price and you are willing to accept some defects in laptop!!!

By the way, the good thing about the baby is its nice looking, small and very lightweight.
