The Basics

Hard Drive: The 40 GB hard drive is smaller in comparison to other business-oriented notebooks, but is understandable with such a compact Tablet PC. However, it will offer a decent enough capacity for storing documents and productivity software for road warriors--though not much multimedia storage.
Processor: The ultra-low voltage 1.0 GHz Pentium M (Centrino) processor helps preserve battery life and is equivalent in speed to a 1.4 GHz Pentium 4-M (mobile). The Pentium M processor is designed specifically for low-power mobile usage, and it features the latest in power-saving technologies--ensuring you push your battery and productivity to the max. It has a 400 MHz front-side bus (FSB) and 1 MB L2 cache. (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance.)
Memory: The 512 MB of built-in memory (2 x 256 MB, DDR SDRAM, 266 MHz) is a good start for power users. It has two memory slots in total, with a maximum memory expansion up to 2 GB (2 x 1024 MB).
CD/DVD Drive: The TPCV1250S-1003 does not include an optical storage option.
Keyboard & Mouse: This Tablet PC has a 101-key compatible keyboard, five easy-launch keys, built-in scroll button, and a full-size stylus with eraser to access the touch screen.

Screen, Graphcs and Sound
The XGA 12.1-inch LCD can be positioned like a typical notebook PC screen, but it can also swivel from side to side for better viewing of presentations. It can also lay flat with the screen facing up, enabling you to use this Tablet PC as an electronic notepad. It has a resolution of 1024 x 768 pixels. It has an integrated AGP 4x video/graphics card and an integrated sound card.

Connectivity and Expansion Slots
The TPCV1250S has an integrated 54g wireless LAN that's fully compatible with 802.11b/g wireless networks. You get a basic offering of connectivity options, which does include super-fast USB 2.0 and Firewire:

This system comes with the Windows XP Tablet PC Edition 2005 operating system with Service Pack 2 featuring Advanced Security Technologies, which helps to reduce unwanted downloads and pop-ups while surfing the Web. Other preloaded software titles include FranklinCovey TabletPlanner (30-day trial), Mindjet MindManager for Tablet PC for brainstorming and planning, Alias Sketchbook Pro, and Colligo Workgroup for collaborating across secure peer-to-peer networks.
