Nice and fast laptop with some flaws

PROS:
- Awesome processing speed, faster than most if not all single core desktops.
- Fingerprint reader signon option
- Widescreen
- Light weight
- SD card reader
- 3 USB ports on the laptop, more on the docking station
- Universal HP docking station compliance
- Sturdy design, reliable, durable. I dropped a bag with it with no apparent damage.

CONS:
- Fingerprint reader doesn't work without Client for Microsoft Windows
- Fingerprint reader has serious problems with Novell Client and most users in our organization are not using it for this reason
- Has serious problems with power management and BIOS in Linux (each time you shut down you can't power up without disconnecting from external power and re-setting the battery in its place
- Native HP/Windows drivers for wireless don't work with advanced PEAP-GTC authentication; You need to download Intel ProWireless software
- Extremely small text/icons at native 1680x1050 resolution
- When using large fonts, things are not displayed properly in all applications
- Extremely proprietary charger's connector, Dell's shape, but different voltage, nothing universal about it. I had a hell of a time when I left town for the weekend and forgot the charger. Called and visited multiple distributors and stores and tried multiple chargers none of which worked. Had to wait till I was back home.
- DVDRW recording is extremely slow, usually around 0.8 speed although it should be many times faster. Don't buy the DVDRW if you have a desktop with DVD burner.
- DVD playing is choppy and unacceptable
