Amazon.com Product Description
RCA's 52-inch HD52W55 projection television delivers broad, big-screen excitement with the best possible high-definition imagery, right out of the box. The HD52W55 uses an integrated ATSC/QAM (Quadrature Amplitude Modulation) digital tuner for free, off-air reception of HDTV broadcasts--no set-top box required. The TV also benefits from a host of proprietary technologies, from RCA's Accurate Visual Reality picture projection system (for bright, automatically aligned lifelike video) to the Hi-Pix Picture System (which combines display technology and video optimization with updated TruScan Digital Reality signal processing).

The set's HDTV tuner is digital cable ready (DCR), which means you don't need a cable box to view unscrambled digital cable programming. A rear-panel CableCARD slot gives you the ability to receive digital cable via a special card that obviates the need for a separate, stand-alone cable box.

A 3-line digital comb filter enhances resolution by removing blurred edges between colors and reducing dot crawl (tiny, moving dots of color along a sharp color separation in a vertical line, as in a depiction of a character's striped T-shirt). Velocity-scan modulation improves the definition at picture edges, creating sharper images by slowing the CRT (cathode-ray tube) beam's horizontal scanning during demanding work--say, when rendering transitions from light to dark parts of an image--and speeding it up when scanning easily rendered sections, like broad dark areas.

With the set's Film Mode option turned on, intelligent signal processing courtesy of TruScan Digital Reality recognizes incoming video signals and progressively converts them to achieve optimum digital picture performance. TruScan Digital Reality also includes 3:2 pulldown reversal, a handy feature for watching progressive-scan movie programs in their native 24-frame format. Digital video mastering introduces a common distortion when adjusting 24-frames-per-second movies to 30 fps video; 3:2 pulldown reversal digitally corrects this distortion, removing the redundant information to display a film-frame-accurate picture.

Connections consist of 1 high-definition component-video input, 1 HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface), 2 S-video inputs, 3 composite-video inputs, and 2 RF inputs (affording 2-tuner picture-in-picture viewing from analog sources).

An audio/video output also permits hookup with an external device such as a digital video recorder, while an optical digital-audio output channels Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound from select HDTV programs to a compatible AV receiver and multichannel speaker system. A front-panel input affords simple connections with camcorders, gaming devices, digital cameras, and other components. All terminals are gold plated for the best possible signal conductivity.

The set produces stereo audio powered by 15 watts per channel from its two 2-way speakers. Other features include expanded stereo with bass boost (uses the TV's left and right speakers to expand sound and create a "live performance" effect), a closed-caption display, V-Chip parental control, a sleep timer, and power-on timer.

An elaborate onscreen help system describes the set's features and explains how to use them. You can customize the TV to fit your viewing taste--and match the lighting in the room where you watch TV--using personal presets and/or the internal automatic picture quality settings: vibrant (day), cinematic (night), natural, videogame, and professional. You can adjust each input to a different setting and the TV will automatically adjust the picture when you change inputs.

HDMI (High-Definition Multimedia Interface) is a lossless, uncompressed, all-digital audio/video interface to link the set with any AV source (such as a set-top box, DVD player, or AV receiver). HDMI supports standard-definition (SD), enhanced definition (ED), or high-definition (HD) video, plus multi-channel digital audio--all using a single cable. It transmits all ATSC HDTV standards and supports up to 8-channel digital audio, with bandwidth to spare to accommodate future enhancements and requirements.

What's in the Box

Amazon.com Product Description

You've probably seen the wildly popular Motorola RAZR V3 in someone's hand before. With the quad-band GSM RAZR V3i, Motorola has made it even better. The sexy design is still here, as is the all-metal construction. This time, though, the phone boasts an updated and streamlined design, enhanced video capture and playback capabilities, a 1.23 megapixel camera, and a hot-swappable MicroSD memory card slot. Plus, it's now available in beautiful maroon.

The RAZR V3i adds key enhancements to the wildly popular RAZR franchise. See it in more detail, open and closed.

Design
At .55 inches thick, the RAZR V3i is virtually the same thickness as the original RAZR. And like the original RAZR, the phone's design takes the standard clamshell form factor to the next level with an impressive, fully-anodized aluminum construction. A large 176 x 220 color display with 262,000 colors dominates the inside of the top cover. The outside cover of the handset sports a supplementary 96 x 80 full-color display that can display caller ID pictures, time, call information, battery and signal strength, and more. The 1.23 megapixel camera lens is housed above this display. Up/down buttons are placed on the left side for volume control.

Most of the phone's features and on-screen menus are controlled by a five-way center button on the handset's backlit control pad, which is precision cut from a single sheet of nickel-plated copper alloy. A mini-USB port is provided, which, while useful for fast data transfer, can also be used with compatible USB stereo headsets. Note that the phone does not have a standard 2.5mm headset jack.

Calling Features
The RAZR V3i's internal phone book can hold up to 1000 contacts while the phone's picture ID system allows you to assign pictures to your most common callers. The phone also supports polyphonic ringtones as well as MP3 ringers, allowing you to use portions of your favorite songs to alert you to incoming calls. For times when you want to be discreet, there's a vibrating alert. A built-in speakerphone makes it easy to talk without having the phone to your ear while voice activated dialing makes calling your friends, family and associates as easy as saying their names. Speaker-independent technology allows any speaker to dial numbers with the voice dialing system. And because the RAZR V3i is Bluetooth enabled, wireless headsets can be configured with the phone for total handsfree operation.

Messaging, Internet, and Tools
The RAZR V3i is a messaging and wireless Internet powerhouse. Support is built in for sending and receiving pictures, text, graphics, sound and video via messages. When used in combination with the phone's built-in still and video camera, MMS opens up a whole new world of messaging fun. There's also a built-in web browser for mobile Web downloads and browsing via your carrier's GPRS-based data service. If you need email on the go, the V3i comes with an email client that supports IMAP, POP3, and SMTP email standards. iTap text entry, which is a technology that makes it easier for people to enter words and text on handsets, is built into the unit-- a plus for mobile email and text messaging users.

A number of handy software tools are bundled with the RAZR V3i including a calculator with currency converter, a calendar and an alarm clock. The phone can also be used with Motorola's Mobile Phone Tools PC application to manage and synchronize contacts, calendar and other data with your PC.

Imaging and Entertainment
The V3i's 1.23 megapixel camera bridges the gap between phones and quality digital cameras. The digital zoom-enabled camera is also designed to capture video. You can even print your shots on a Bluetooth-enabled printer. Embedded animated screensavers and full screen wallpapers are built-in so you can set up the RAZR V3i to suit your tastes. The phone supports games, as well as gaming connectivity via Bluetooth.

Vital Statistics
The Motorola RAZR V3i weighs 3.53 ounces and measures 3.86 x 2.09 x .55 inches. Its lithium-ion battery is rated at up to 6.67 hours of digital talk time, and up to 310 hours of digital standby time. It runs on the GSM/GPRS 850/900/1800/1900 frequencies. The phone comes with a one year limited warranty.

5 out of 5 stars Good choice so far!.......2007-05-07

It's been couple of months since i have purchased this cell phone and so far i am pretty happy with it. The only problem is it is not compatible with the T-Mobile voice mail system. Therefore each time i have a missed call, a voice mail message or if i access my messages it sends annoying blank text messages. Although there is no charge for them i have the additional headache of deleting them. It also tends to attract fingerprints and dust more than my other phone's but it is sleek and attractive compared to any other phone's i have had. So if you can live with the above problems then it is a decent phone. Otherwise only time will tell about it's reliability and durability!

5 out of 5 stars This Phone Is the Hotness!!!.......2007-03-22

I just had to write a review on this phone, after seeing some fairly unfounded reviews I figured I didn't want to write it until I had fully "tested" out my own! Admittedly, I did not get my phone from Amazon--but hopefully you will find my review beneficial all the same.

Okay, I noticed--first off--one reviewer complained (there is no better way to put it) about the phone being "crap"--saying reception or whatever was poor. Well I want to say that this couldn't be far from the truth; at least as far as my phone gones--it couldn't be better! Another reviewer mentioned, that she had difficulty setting the phone to her network--or to be more specific, she was displeased that she could not get all of her features working--like email and web access--thus giving the phone another unfortunate strike. I can tell you from personal experience with mines I'm not gonna lie and say that I wasn't simiarly frustrated when I--initially-couldn't get mine setup to my Cingular network. However, if one takes the time and a little "googling" you can find various Motorola modding forums [...] and sites like that w/ other Motorola unlocked phone users that will happily guide you in the right direction to getting your phone working to just about any network! Literally, with a little persistance it took me less than a week--a matter a fact, within the same week that I got my phone--to completely have mines configured to my Cingular network (email, web, and all)!

Top it off w/ the iTunes and the hot color and this phone is a absolute winner in my book--by far the best cell I've had! Hope my lil' review helps! :)

4 out of 5 stars Works better than the standard RAZR I had........2007-01-14

This phone I have had no problems with at all. I like the voice dial without having to record the names. This phone is much louder than the standard RAZR I had. I went through 5 standard V3s then I got this and it is great.

1 out of 5 stars do not buy this phone! seriously! .......2006-12-19

this phone is garbage; i've gone through two already. that's right i've spent $600 on the world worst piece of sh*t. shame on me eh?
why is it bad?: when combined with cingular you get half your calls (i had a nokia prior which didn't drop ANY), reception sucks, i mean really sucks (where i used to have service with my 'fashion nokia 5260) i don't even get reception with this garbage), besides if you call with this phone internationally you will sound like a stuttering idiot (as my european friend told me in his words) as the reception is so bad. i've already gotten in fights with my wife as she has tried to call me in ordinarily perfect spots and nothing went through. not outside in soho nyc. not even voicemail. consider this all b4 buying this half assed piece of junk. i'm telling you go nokia as prior i had no problems for 5 years...
