Lagging behind........2007-01-14
This phone truly does not meet up with the standards of today's phones. When I received this, it mimicked the prepay phone I had in 1999. I couldn't believe they were actually selling this as an upgrade. Poor screen quality, poor camera, poor phone. If this phone hadn't been stolen, I would have returned it. Even with the discounted upgrade price I received, this phone wasn't worth it.
Not Such A Good Phone........2006-11-07
I have anly used Nokia phones, and loved them. I recieved this phone as an alternate exchange for one of my Nokia's.
At first I liked it but soon began to realize that there are limited opportunities to customize your phone. Also that the reception the phone recieved was limited and continually dropped calls. The battery life is not long also. If you use your phone it may last 2 days, but probably not. Without using it or looking at it, it may last 3. This was just in 3 months of having the phone too. Overall I would not recomed getting this phone.
Samsung t319 -- not what i expected.......2006-09-25
I used to have a T309 and was told this was the exact same thing, except upgraded and better. THAT IS NOT THE CASE! The T319 doesn't capture video (something I used quite often with my old phone). It also doesn't have as many color options with it or ringtones. It lags every time I sign onto AIM. I have never been more unhappy with a new phone. If I could give this phone zero stars, I would.
Not really an upgrade over other Samsung models.......2006-07-15
I use a phone mainly for talking, T9 texting, basic camera, alarm, and phonebook. I've had 6 cell phones over 3 years mostly because I have a big problem with losing them, so I'm fairly familiar with Nokia and Samsung brands. This one replaced the Samsung e335 that I loved (but lost). As a comparison, I don't like this one as much.
The good:
-reception is excellent, even in my office, notorious for bad reception
-big phonebook, adding multiple numbers to 1 name
-volume is great, easy to hear the caller
-camera quality is decent, plus 4x zoom
-flip open to answer, which I love. On bar phones, I tend to answer & hang up when I pull it from my pocket.
-the center button is now "OK" instead of t-zones, which I use occasionally, but not often enough to warrant its own button.
And the bad:
-No indicator light on the cover so you can't see if you have a missed call or voicemail. The outer display changes to an envelope, but that's tough to see from several feet away. Past Samsungs that I've had used this feature (e335, e105)
-Hard to read the time & bars on outside display, but holding the side button lights it up.
-the hinge feels weird on your cheek when you're talking. You may get used to this though.
-plastic feels cheap and not as flashy as the shinier e335. Buttons on the inside are same way.
-No ring & vibrate at the same time. I hate this the most.
-The included ringtones aren't the right style for a mid-20s guy like me.
I've had this phone for 4 days now, and I'm considering sending it back to T-Mobile and getting the Nokia 6103 instead. The price was right when I re-upped my plan ($40), but after having so many different phones, I know what I like and I'm very particular. But with the frequency that I lose phones, I'm not going to spend $300.
