The Basics

Hard Drive: Though not world-beating in size, the 60 GB enhanced IDE hard drive (4200 RPM) offers more than enough storage capacity for road warriors.
Processor: The 1.5 GHz Pentium M processor is near the top of the speed range compared with other Centrino notebooks (with current speed topping out at 1.7 GHz). Because of its design, the Intel Pentium M gets more done per clock tick than a Mobile Intel Pentium 4, thus providing the discrepancy in GHz measurement (i.e., 1.7 versus 3.2). The Pentium M processor is designed specifically for low-power mobile usage, and it features the latest in power-saving technologies--ensuring you push your battery and productivity to the max.
Memory: The x1210us comes with a 512 MB built-in memory (DDR SDRAM, 333 MHz)--a good start for power users--with a maximum memory expansion up to 2.05 GB (2 x 1024 MB). It also has a 1024KB L2 cache.
CD/DVD Drive: It comes equipped with a combo DVD/CD-RW drive, which enables you to play DVD-ROM discs and DVD movies as well as burn data and record music to CD discs.
Keyboard & Mouse: The x1210us has a 101-key keyboard and touchpad with on/off button and dedicated vertical scroll up/down pad.

Sound and Graphics
The 15.4inch WXGA TFT display supports internal resolutions up to 1280 x 800 with ATI Mobility Radeon graphics and 32 MB VRAM (dedicated). The audio card is integrated into the computer's main board, and it features JBL Pro Performance internal speakers.

The x1210us comes with the Windows XP Home Edition operating system, and it also features Microsoft Works (for working with word processing and spreadsheet documents). Other preloaded software includes Norton Antivirus 2003 (with 60 days of complimentary live updates), Quicken, Microsoft Money, Microsoft Encarta Online Deluxe, Adobe Acrobat Reader, InterVideo WinDVD SE (for playing DVD movies), MusicMatch Jukebox, Muvee AutoProducer, and Roxio Easy CD and DVD Creator (Basic).

Dimensions and Weight
Measuring 10 x 14 x 1.24 inches (L x W x H), its slim profile will fit easily in any briefcase. It weighs a nicely light 6.5 pounds.

My Favorite USB Drive.......2007-05-11

I have several USB drives, and this one is my favorite. The compact size usually does not block the adjacent USB slot, although you may need to set the cap aside. The activity LED is visible from all directions, so you get feedback. I often use this in laptops or desktops other than my own, and the putrid green color is a real advantage to remind me that I need to remove it and take it with me. The cap still fits snugly after about ten months of use.

I carry this in a laptop case rather than on a keychain. Keychains get a lot of banging, and I'd rather not tempt fate.

I recommend any of the Lexar Firefly models, but this one has the most obnoxious color, and is highly recommended for anyone who can be forgetful, although I can't remember who that might be.

I just wanted to let you know that the jump drive work well. I have the red 256 mb and I needed another one so I chose the next step up so that I wouldn't have 2 of the same color and get confused.

This product does not have a feature that helps you not lose it, but since i ordered it to go in one of those digital picture frames, no big deal. It's small size means it doesn't stick out from the back, although the bright green color sure doesn't make it blend in. If i were getting a flash drive to just carry around, I would get one that can go on a keychain (not where the cap can go on a keychain), or one that has a lanyard. This one has the ability to fall out of the cap, leaving you without the important part!

I've had two other flash drives. Because the caps did not snap in place, they were quickly lost. Not only does this drive have a snap on cap, the cap itself attaches to your keychain, so you can't lose it. That also means the drive can attach to the computer without your keys being attached as well. The back end lights up blue when the data is transferring and can be seen no matter which way the drive is facing (other drives just have an LED that only shows from one side). Also the drive is so small and so thin that you can still use the adjacent USB port when it is plugged in. I'm sure other drives are out there with these same qualities, but to me this is a perfect design.

My daughter uses it at college, keeps it on her keychain with her ID so she always has it with her, this way she can easily transport her work from college computers to her personal computer. Works great!
