This 'talking electronic dictionary' synthesizes English but does NOT synthesize Vietnamese! Utterly useless to an English speaker who needs to hear the intonations. You can hear a limited number of pre-recorded Vietnamese phrases in a travelers phrase book, but the dictionary itself does NOT speak Vietnamese.

Candidly, I feel the available product descriptions are quite misleading on this point. I guess you learn as you go - next time I buy a talking Vietnamese dictionary, I'll be more careful to make sure the language it speaks is Vietnamese.
