  • Processor: The Intel Pentium M 735 (Centrino) processor is traditionally designed specifically for mobile computing, but it enables this Slimline desktop to keep cool even when multitasking. Its 1.7 GHz speed puts it in the lower half of the speed spectrum for this processor class (June 2006). That said, it is still well equipped for office productivity software tasks, from complex spreadsheets to databases. The Pentium M processor is designed specifically for low-power mobile usage, and it features the latest in power-saving technologies--ensuring you push your battery and productivity to the max. It also has a large 2 MB L2 cache--which will help speed up your system's performance--and a 400 MHz front-side bus (FSB). (An L2, or secondary, cache temporarily stores data; and a larger L2 cache can help speed up your system's performance. The FSB carries data between the CPU and RAM, and a faster front-side bus will deliver better overall performance.)
  • Memory: The 1 GB of installed RAM (PC3200, 2 x 512 MB, 400 MHz) will handle multimedia tasks such as photo editing and digital music management, but it might not be enough for higher end video editing.   • CD/DVD Drive: Offering the latest in DVD writing technology, this multiformat DVD/CD drive is compatible with writing both DVD+ and DVD- disc formats as well as dual-layer (DL) DVD+/-R discs, which can store up to 8.5 GB of data.
