The Gateway 4012GZ belongs to the Thin, Light, Powerful class of the Gateway 4000 Series Notebook. The Gateway 4012GZ is a well-equipped, value-priced notebook for users new to mobile computing. It has a 15"-diagonal LCD screen with XGA (1024 x 768) native resolution, for bright, sharp graphics and images. Its processor, specifically designed for mobile computing, is an Intel Celeron M 340 operating at 1.5GHz, with 512 KB of L2 cache and a 400MHz frontside bus. It is complemented by 512MB of PC2700 DDR memory (max. capacity 2GB)and a 80GB 4200-rpm hard drive. A DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive lets you play DVDs and burn and play CDs on the go. Network in any of three ways, with or without a wire. The Gateway 4012GZ has built-in 802.11g wireless capability, supporting wireless transmission rates of up to 54Mbps. An Ethernet port provides high-speed wired access, while the 56K V.92 modem permits dial-up access. A 6-cell lithium-ion battery provides mobile power to access the Internet from a remote hot spot. Connect to printers, cameras and other peripherals with 4 high-speed USB 2.0 and 1 FireWire (IEEE 1394) ports. The Gateway 4012GZ comes with Microsoft® Windows® XP Home Edition pre-installed, Microsoft Works 8.0, Nero 6 suite and is backed by gateway's 1-year limited warranty.
