Great with Linux.......2007-01-02

Runs fine with Mandriva Linux 2007. Only issues were the SD card reader is non-standard and the video BIOS doesn't support the widescreen modes. Both are easily correctable with patches available on-line.

fast and quiet.......2006-12-20

I tried very hard to stick with my three-year old Dell until its battery got totaled. I can't even start it without the power cord. Then Lenovo caught my attention when they made headlines with purchasing of IBM's PC and Laptop line.

As far as I am concerned, the best thing about this laptop is it quietness and low-heat. You can barely hear the fan even in a small room. Putting it on you lap won't have any problem at all, which is a far cry from my hot Dell.

I bought this Lenovo laptop from office depot back in September. It comes with two rebates which bought the price down to 700$. What a deal! I use the spared money adding 1G of Kingston PC 5300 (bought from circuity city(KVR667D2SO1GR), and it runs swiftly even with 4-5 program open at one time.

I only wish the touch pad counld be a little bigger, like that on Apple. But it will be a big deal after if you got a blue tooth mouse.

very relyable machine, fast and quiet........2006-11-28

I used many laptops including sony, dell etc. This one I am most satisfied with. I've used this laptop for 5 months, no problem occured. I love the wide screen; it is gorgeous. Beautiful. Very suitable for watching movies:) The key board is very comfortable and distritution of the keys are much better than others I feel. And most importantly, the Core Duo processor is really fast. It produces much less heat than my last one and hence less noise from the fan. I think their heat releasing system is very good, although I don't know how they achieved this.

A computer of relyable performance and sleek make. Absolutely deserves the price.
