Customer Reviews:
Not worth the trouble!.......2007-03-26
We recently replaced our two old monitors with two Gateway monitors- one 19 inch and the other a 22 inch. Right out of the box the 19 inch had a dead pixel. We took it back to Best Buy and exchanged it for another of the same model- that one too had a dead pixel. Frustrated we took it back and once again exchanged it for the same model. This one luckily did not have any dead pixels! We were pleased and thought the first two must have just been a fluke. A few weeks have gone by and the 19 inch is still is working well, but now the 22 inch has a dead pixel! It's past the length of time we can return it so now we have to call Gateway and see if we can get it replaced. After all this we will certainly never buy a Gateway monitor again.
Wow the store demo wasnt this nice...............2007-02-16
I had been reading several reviews for monitors and checking the quality for several different brands. When I came across this one I passed it up almost immediately because for the price I was sure it was a piece of junk. I went down to best buy and checked out several. The guy there was all about this monitor and though I still wasn't all the way sold on it I figured heck I could return it if I don't like it. Boy did I eat my own words. This is an intense monitor so vibrant and colorful though after a bit of tweaking your retina won't fry. This is a fantastic buy I recommend to anyone not wanting to spend a ton of money but are looking for a great monitor.
Great monitor for a great price!.......2006-11-15
I bought one of these monitors so I could upgrade from a 17". I wasn't really expecting to much because of the price. After a week of using it, I was so happy with it that I bought another. Having two monitors connected to my machine has made almost everything I do better. I was so happy with these monitors that I decided to purchase a Gateway computer (this monitor is "branded" Gateway). Although I am not to thrilled about the computer (FX510X-Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 '2.4 ghz', 4MB cache, 2GB DDR2), I am so happy with my 'Gateway FPD1975W'. As a matter of fact, I have just purchased a third one just in case Gateway discontinues this monitor. I definitely would recommend this monitor.
Have You Ever Been Experienced? .......2006-08-26
Pardon the Hendrix reference, but I have. I just got this monitor last month as part of a package deal for my new computer. It's outstanding and makes everyday tasks feel novel and unique. It's like watching a movie in the theatre rather than at home. The 19 inch size offers major advantages over the old 17 inch models. Also, for those of you who game or play poker online, it eliminates the awkward overlap which decreased much of our efficiency and pleasure in the past. Gateway, particularly, with this device, offers solid quality for a reasonable price which may be the best reason why you should consider purchasing it.
