It comes with a lanyard to wear it around your neck and it is still smaller than Rappers jewelry. However, it is packed with tones of cool features like: FM tuner, voice recorder (or what ever you want to record and e-mail to your friends), FM recording, direct encoding (device to device or even into your guitar to record your Van Halen licks), and best of all, direct USB connection. This is a great external storage device. Load pictures, school or work documents, songs, books on tape, whatever! Hey, it's only memory! Then you can download them on to any computer, for file sharing fun! But wait that's not all! The unit comes pre-loaded with tunes from VOLCOM entertainment! For free! It is powered by one AAA battery that lasts for 12 hours. (I use two re-chargeable AAA and keep one in my pocket so I can run the thing non-stop). It is super easy to navigate (don't need a thick manual for it) and fun to use. So don't buy a brick with bad battery life (that goes out on you while you are out having fun and you have to wait till you get home to recharge the thing) and is loaded with a ton of songs you are sick of anyway. Get something you will use everyday with songs on it you can't wait to hear! Finally someone got it right!!

A WWAN uses long-range wireless connections -- the same networks as cellular phones -- to provide access across a large geographic area. In comparison, a WLAN (wireless LAN) covers only one or more buildings located close together. The use of wireless connectivity on a WLAN is simply an alternative to the PSTN (public switched telephone network), which you may have used -- or still use -- to dial into your ISP (Internet service provider) or reach your company's network. On a WWAN, however, you use wireless connectivity to reach your carrier's data network instead of plugging into a phone jack and dialing into your ISP. It's a very light computer, very beautiful and stylish. I have had it for almost three months now and I am very satisfied with its performance.

Light, fast, powerful - overall a great laptop!.......2006-12-04

I have been using this laptop for more than a week now and love it! As mentioned in the specifications, it is extremely light (~4 lbs). The screen size (13.3") with 1280x800 resolution is just right for me, though people with weaker eyesight may find the text to be a little too small.

Pros:

1. Full size keyboard: very comfortable to type. Though it makes a little sound - I find it very good.

2. Bright screen: beautiful bright screen. I would have preferred a matte finish, but am beginning to like the glossy screen also.

3. Biometric finger-print sensor: love to just swipe a finger and log in! Works well most of the time.

4. Hybrid graphics: Absolutely love it! When I need it for general word processing, emailing, browsing - I use the integrated graphics card ("stamina" mode) - but for graphics intensive work can switch to the Nvidia 7400 card ("speed" mode). The battery life suffers, of course, but you can see the performance boost.

5. Very, very fast: Core 2 duo, 5400 rpm SATA drive, 1 GB RAM ... overall sweet performance at an extremely light package.

6. Runs quiet and cool. Very cool, in fact, in the "stamina" mode - you can feel a heat a little bit in the "speed" mode (with the dedicated graphics card turned on.) You can hear the fan if you take your ear next to it - but very quiet otherwise.

Cons:

1. Not so stellar battery life (with standard battery): I get around 3 hours battery life in "stamina" mode, about 1 and 1/2 to 2 hrs in "speed" mode.

2. Wish the ac adapter was a bit smaller and there was a nice way to wind the cable around it for storage (like Apple or even Dell.)

3. Screen: would be nice to have an option between matte and glossy screen. Not a real con - but just wish there was a choice!

4. A higher resolution web cam would be nice too!

5. Too many useless softwares come pre-installed. Since there are no OS and driver CDs (a portion of the HDD is used as a recovery partition - you can create a set of recovery discs in either CDs or DVDs) - every time you re-install you have to manually uninstall a bunch of these softwares. I haven't tried a fresh install using a separate windows cd yet - but uninstalling and removing unwanted softwares is a must for fast and efficient performance of the computer.

Overall a great computer for the money ... anyone who is looking for a fast, ultra-portable laptop - should give this a thought. No other laptop in the market provides so many features and high performance at such a small and light package! Would give it 4.5 out of 5 stars.
