From audio and video playback to voice recording, the Laser MVP-1GB handles it all. The handheld device--which measures a mere 1.5 by 2.95 by 0.75 inches (W x H x D)--is small enough to fit in your pocket or purse, making it ideal for long plane rides and other portable uses. At the same time, its compact body offers enough functions to please everyone from business travelers to bored teenagers. As a music player, the MVP-1GB supports such formats as MP1, MP2, MP3, WMA, ASF, and WAV, giving listeners access to a ton of digital music. It also offers several playback modes, including repeat play (one track, all tracks, or all tracks in a folder), random play, and intro play.

Video-wise, the MVP-1GB invites users to convert DVDs, AVI, and other video formats into AMV files, and then play them back on the unit's crisp 1.5-inch LCD display (all files are stored on the unit's 1 GB drive). Want to watch Firefly on the plane or haul along your favorite home movies? No problem. Users can even store digital photos and animated GIFs on the MVP-1GB. And should you need to record a voice memo or a song idea, simply activate the built-in microphone and archive the thought. The player saves voice recordings in either WAV or ACT format, and supports both digital A-B replay and comparison replay.

Additional features include a built-in FM tuner with 40 presets; seven preset equalizer modes (normal, rock, pop, classic, soft, jazz, and DBB); an intuitive graphical user interface with a vivid animation menu; and a "private space" disk mode that lets you divide the flash memory into two partitions--one for encrypted (hidden) files and the other for regular files. The MVP-1GB, which is firmware-upgradeable, works with any Windows 2000 and later operating system and is backed by a 90-day manufacturer's warranty.
