Customer Reviews:
almost.......2007-04-30
the picture is great! the look is great!... but if your going to put speakers into it... put some in it!... jeez from the outside they look like speakers but honesly they sound like little tiny things.
Excellent monitor.......2007-03-09
Excellent monitor, great picture and clarity for the price. Easy to install, just make sure that your graphics card is compatible with it to get the best value from the monitor.
Amazing picture quality..........2006-10-24
I originally wanted to buy the VA1912wb, but found out that it was about to be discontinued. Needless to say, I bought this model instead, the VA1930wm and I'm glad I did. The built quality on this monitor is a solid 10+, the base of the monitor is very sturdy and just heavy enough where it will not move around when the monitor's being adjusted. The picture quality is crystal clear, the texts are razor sharp, the graphics are clearer than ever, thanks to the 700:1 contrast ratio and the lightning quick 5ms response time. For a little bit more money spent compared to the other model, I got:
360 Degree Swivel
3.2" Height Adjustment
Faster response time at 5ms
1.5W Speakers with built-in Amplifier (compared to 1W with no amp on VA1912wb)
Most beneficial of all, it consumes less energy compared with my 17" CRT, runs much much cooler and is way much lighter, free up plenty of space for me to work around, its got no dead pixels, and my 7 year old computer and its old video card - after much tweaking and surprisingly supported the 1440X900 native resolution - although tech support couldn't help me solve the problem and insisted I use 1024X768 (I don't think so). Overall: It's BIGGER, BETTER and COSTS LESS...what could be better?
Note: There are a few reviewers elsewhere that had mention compatibility issues with most older video cards. My desktop is 7 years old which I purchased back in '99 and was most certain that it wasn't going to support its native resolution of 1440X900, and guess what...it did not! But after a download update for the card, all is well at 1440X900!
Pros:
*Very solid built quality
*No dead pixels
*Picture quality
*Speakers are better than most mfg (but currently disconnected)
*360 degree Swivel option
*3.2" Height Adjust capability
*Excellent Contrast Ratio
*Excellent Response Time
*It's a ViewSonic, how else would you want to spend your money?
Cons:
*Monitor sat a bit high even at its lowest height setting (just my opinion).
*DVI cable not included (but included w/ the VA1912wb model)
*Volume control for speakers integrated with picture setting buttons on side - not user friendly.
*Tech Support lacks knowledge (but quick on call).
