As with most GPX stereos, the device is simple and reliable, with just enough features to handle the most important tasks while still keeping the price in check. It's an especially good choice for people who want a way to record from the radio without investing in more expensive digital equipment. The boombox comes equipped with an AM/FM tuner with a digital readout and a soft-eject cassette system. Recording is easy thanks to the automatic level control, which instinctively adjusts the audio input to produce the best sound from the source. The machine also performs well during playback thanks to the bass boost system (BBS) and the pair of full-range speakers, which combine to produce clear, crisp tones with an ample deep range. Additional features include cassette auto-stop (halts the tape when it reaches the end), a stereo headphone jack for private listening, and AC/DC dual power.
Appropriately for a portable boombox, the device runs on four "C" batteries and includes a carrying handle for easy transport. The boombox also carries a 90-day warranty on parts and labor.
